I think I may need a new graphics card, my monitor went flakey, so I treated myself to a new one not a great fan of LCD screens, but I got one, and now have to run in it's native 1920x1200 and my 8800 GT is creaking, and Valencia (one of my fave tracks) gets choppy with low track detail and low everything else. Not sure what would be a worthwhile upgrade in the 150 quid ish area?
I've got an 8800GT 512MB and it'll run GTR2 at full on all of the detail options, 4x AA and 4x AF at 1680x1050 at 100+FPS. Maybe an issue with the drivers?

I've got a 8800 GT as well and run roughly the same settings as Tibs. Not sure what cpu you are using but, in my experience, cpu power is far more important than gpu for GTR2/GTL. , knock yourself out Paul Meaning have fun . A Cornish saying only?

Just had a go in the L88 - what a beast! The thing I like about the P&G mod is that the higher powered cars are so much more resolved. They don't just feel like big slidey lumps of blancmange with big power on the straights.

Just what is the problem with the Healey Dave?
All the delightful it had in GTL has gone - to me it feels numb and uncommunicative. In GTL it inspired confidence; in P&G it inspires me to go play iRacing instead.

Initial try out with the Fezza 275 special....my, what a rocket! and glorious sounding to boot! Mind you seems prone to overheating the oil, 99 degrees after a few fast laps! Best time so far 2.12.8. Think I'll try the Healey and see if I can make it twitchier! (just for you Dave!)

I know what you mean Dave. Even with a quite extreme setup the Healey refused to play, whereas the old one could be made to slide around a fair bit. I get the impression that the mod is better for the more powerful cars but perhaps less so for the lower powered ones.

Brake and throttle settings are as they come. I am using a fresh install with a slimmed down GTR2 option I could try reducing the sensitivity, that might help, though I tried your settings once before, and was uncomfortable with them. It is only with the Tina so far that the braking is wild, the default setup is very far forward on the bias if you make it any more then the fronts locks up into turns, as it is the back whips around unpredictably as the rears lock up one side then the other. More coast diff mostly sorted it, I didn't have enough test time to get an ideal setup on Thurs.
THe CPU is Core2Duo umm 6750? 6770? maybe.. 2.66 gig anyways. 4 Gig RAM It is however running the devils spawn of operating systems - Vista 64 which Is the only 64 bit Windies op sys I have and I need to get the large mem for work purposes on that box, as it's the only one I have with hardware virtualisation.
I am running no AA or any other options, just 1950x1200 16bit colour, 75Hz, auto DX. It is useable, just a bit flickery in parts of the track. How do you get frame rate in GTR2 shift F don't seem to work.

Have you tried running it in DX9 1950x1200 32bit?

Maybe I was hitting Shft F by mistake (I can't see my keys from my seat) I have not set the DX at all, I'll give it a whirl. Thanks Tibs

83fps out of last turn, 125 by end of start finish straight. sounds fine, but still looks a bit choppy at times.
Some 1st attempt times. no more than 6 laps each
Vette 575 = 22.5 jag 5 spd = 21.5 Fez GTB Spec = 17.0 Healey MkII = 34.0 Cobra Coupe = 18.7 Shelby Daytona = 18.1 (Only one so far with wild engine braking spin in 1st gear as per GTL) Shelby 350 CASC= 19.2 (Got bored fighting it)

You may also find that using a trailing throttle helps with very rear bias brake setups initially, this also gives you the added control by enabling you to give more turn in oversteer by using less throttle should you need it.

I've tried quite a few of the cars but only done justice to a few. These are:
Healey - 2.29 TR4 - 2.25.1 vette l88 - 2.13.1 275 sp - 2.12.9
I did a few laps in the e-type lightweight 5sp but didn't really get to grips with the setup and handling - too tail happy but unpredicatble when it did slide. The daytona was alright but not that much fun. The cobra just felt understeery. I expect both could be made to lap quickly with some tuning and patient driving. The L88 Vette is a right laugh to drive here, but then with 575 hp on tap you'd expect that! The 275 is very nice, but surprisingly tricky to get the most from when it slides. You need to keep it in a narrow zone to really exploit it.
