UKPnG Season 1 Clubmans - FUN RACE - Snetterton - May 21

Cars allowed: Corvette C2 L88, GT40 MK1 289, GT40 MK1 Gulf, GT40 MK2, Cobra 427 Roadster, Porsche 906 (all versions), Porsche 914, Porsche 911 RSR IROC, Porsche 911 RSR (The cars in 'Power & Glory Challenge 1 Group') + Shelby Cobra 289 Coupe, F275 Speciale, Shelby Daytona Coupe (The fastest cars in 'Power & Glory Challenge 2 Group')

Start: STANDING
Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel and/or change at least two tyres. You cannot take a mandatory stop at the end of the pace lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Notes:
The speed limit for the pit-lane tonight is 40mph/60kph.
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here, 2.1 patch from here and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of everyone's connection will be reduced.
(6) Note that the server will be set to 26 drivers maximum as that's all the track supports. Hopefully that will be enough being a fun race, but arrive early to avoid disappointment.

IMPORTANT

This race will be used to test our 'clubmans' idea again & the pitting procedure.

The speed limit for the pit-lane tonight is 40mph/60kph.
The cars chosen can be divided into 4 chassis groups:

A
GT40 Mk1 Gulf, Porsche 906-8

B
Porsche 911 RSR-3, Porsche 906-6, Porsche 906-6 Langheck, Porsche 906-E, GT40 Mk11,

C
Porsche 911 IROC, GT40 Mk1, Corvette L88 Coupe, Shelby Cobra 427

D
Corvette L88 Roadster, Shelby Cobra 289 Coupe, Porsche 914, Shelby Daytona Coupe, F275 Speciale

Our "regulars" can be, very roughly divided into Four groups. (If you're quicker then 1:16 in a car available to you, you might want to try another car from your group, or promote yourself () & let me know)

GROUP 1 can only choose from slowest chassis group D

Dan Minton, Madd, Paul 968, Ginsters, PR, Jos Verstappen and Ruskus.

GROUP 2   can choose between chassis C and D.

[Poodle]Keith, Ade, Oily, TT, FMG, Matt Rowe, Steve Holmes, Watty and Manteos.

GROUP 3 can choose between chassis B, C and D.

MJ, Tinman, SamB, Simon Gymer, Lazlow, Legzy, Ossie, Geoffers, Ross, Blunder, Mike Cook and Purdie.

The remainder, far too many to list, have a free choice. If any of that group don't fancy battling against alien types up front or don't like the fastest choice they can of course choose a slower car.

What a mouthwatering selection of classic race cars 

we will need to run several races here just so i can use a load of them !  Whatever i drive i will feel like i am missing out on one of the others

Just had a go in some of my fave cars, here are some times:

Cobra Roadster   1.16.5
Mk1 GT-40         1.16.3
Mk2 GT-40         1.15.0
Gulf GT-40         1.13.0

I've not tried any Porkers or the 'Vette as yet, my Mk2 setup is suprisingly stable through the corners but the Gulf just wants to kill me  , oh yes please!

Here are my laps with default setup (which is horrible with some cars ) and few laps per car

Cobra 427 1:14.4    A lot more controlable that in GTL
911 3.0 1:14.7       More fun to drive than the GTL 911
L88 1:15.5            Default setup is extremely oversteery and could have some work
906 1:15.5            Not really enjoyable to drive (normal short version)
GT40 MK1 1:16.3   What a horrible car to drive with default setup, understeer all the way and brakes are smaller than bottlecaps
GT40 MK2 1:16.5   Same as the MK1 version, just couldn't be bothered to try this car more. Hated it in GTL, and still hate it
911 IROC 1:16.8    More fun to drive than the 911 3.0
914 1:17.3           Very precise car but soooo sloooow

Didn't see any Gulf GT40, but probably don't want to drive any GT40 anymore
