I will pop in tonight then. Maybe not too late as I'm up very early in the morning.

Thx for that gents, great fun Really helps to get a feel of other cars in a warmup, especially with 10 or so there. Should be a cracker tomorrow.

So I'm assuming I need the GTL skins up in the downloads area (and the track obviously). I'm still not sure if I'm going to make it. It clashes directly with a GRC I've been practicing for. And I almost feel like I'm being unfaithful. But an 80 minute race is bloody tempting!
So if anyone can point just what I need etc... So if I DO decide to do this one (while feeling incredibly guilty) I can.
I fully expect to be at the back.
Oh, another question: I'm coming from pretty much exclusively racing RF online. Since I've not raced GTL online at all I'm not sure of it's nuances. Anything I should know? (I'm reading the rules right now but would like to know anything else I should know.)

and if you should accidently tap someone and they leave the track, wait, and allow them to rejoin and pass you.

Be sensible off the start line & corner one particularly... but most importantly, enjoy. Thanks. Grabbed all the files. I always take it easy off the line. Never try and be a hero. As Murray Walker says, a race isn't won the first lap, but it can be lost. and if you should accidently tap someone and they leave the track, wait, and allow them to rejoin and pass you.
Already did that anyway, so no problems there. I am paranoid about people thinking I've crashed into them deliberately. If I let them go, it's obvious I didn't do it on purpose. This race clashes 100% with my GRC race, so you may see me, you may not. Depends if I want to flush all that practice out the window to race a car and track I've never driven before. (Yeah, like I've never done that before!) Which would folk say is the easiest car to drive from those available?

The Lotus Elite is the slowest, then the Renault Alpine. Both are easy drives. The Lotus Elan 26R is a favourite and you would be competitive in this car. The Ferrari 275 is also a consideration along with the Aston Martin.

Me? Competitive? Please, anyone reading this who has maybe raced with me, please point this man to a physician because he is clearly delusional! I think I may have to go with the Fezza. I am not a big Ferrari fan, but that car is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!

Tony summed it up perfectly there. I had a quick trot round last night in the Renault Alpine & I'm convinced it's the easiest drive in the class, it lacks a little on the straight but it corners superbly (add a notch or two of coast to stabilise the breaking). If you'd had some practice then I'd also recommend the Elan but might be tricky jumping straight in. EDIT - if you go with a Fezza, I reckon the 275 is easier then the 250. It also sounds great

Well the Renault is appealing. I like Renaults. (Must be the French influence living just two timezones away from Quebec.) The Ferrari is appealing though. If I'm going to be slow, it'll be in style.
Oh, incidentally, despite having raced sims for 15 years now, I am hopeless at setting a car up! Just thought I'd mention it.
Seriously siding with racing at Buenos Aires rather than my GRC race. This is for points! That one is for fun.
We'll see. I will need to make sure I get some practice in! (Got the files downloaded, but it's 4am now and I should probably get to bed.)
Thanks for the advice guys!

And don't forget to change your PLR file for the pit stops, (4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car see you on track

I can't set Gtl cars up either. I've played Gtr2 that often I can stick together a reasonable set up within laps but I can't seem to set a gtl car up. I did a little practice last night and posted a couple of respectable times in the lotus, but in between making too many errors. I need to try and set the car so it does not keep scrubbing all it's speed off on turn in but can't seem to make it happen. I will do a bit more practice prior to the race and make sure I'm ready to race as I'm not at the moment. I also better have a look at pit stops in gtl.

@Spadowski Ade & Kerr raise good points, you have to complete at one pitstop taking on fuel or tyre change.
So you need to locate the pit lane (right hand side before last right hand turn) & maybe do a practice pitstop or two. A lot of people (me included) get stop/go penalties for forgetting to use the pit speed limiter (& that the limiter turns itself off in GTL while you're mechanics are busy working) or approach their pit crew to fast & have to reverse. Worth a practice or two.
