Don't let me stop you - All the more practice for me Also there are maybe 3 or 4 GPL drivers who have Assetto and therefore might join us here. Although 1 is Mike who will be dependant on graphics card by the look of things...

No problem Simon, know it’s not for everyone. We need all those luddites still using gpl and gtl to finally upgrade to swell the historic racers numbers lord knows why they persevere with 10yr + old sims So, it's a sim of a sim? What's the point? And GPL must be 20 years old not 10. And still feels the best! Let me know when they do the 1955 cars with diabolical brake fade and I might take another look. Brakes, wings and sticky boots are just for wimps! http://www.planet-venom.co.uk/gpl/GPL55/Dundrod_Gordini.mp4

I'll take the "improved physics engines" with a pinch of salt. As for amazing graphics, I usually find that I'm travelling too fast to notice. I suppose it makes for nice still shots. ;-) It's the racing that counts and twenty years on, GPL is still providing it. New pc here, running GPL at 60 fps. Loving it. I race, therefore I am!

So, it's a sim of a sim? What's the point?
In a word - Immersion AC can't touch GPL for realism - I don't think it's even possible to overheat the cars in AC (at least in the GPL mod), but as GPL can't and won't support VR it will never equal the feeling of hurling the White Whale around Rouen (as an example). However there's a very good reason I'm still keeping a foot in with GPL, the challenge is greater than I've encountered in any other sim - and I'd miss it if I quit.

Pleased to hear it Tim. BTW, your Zandvoort Gordini did a good job at Dundrod! ;-) Do you happen to have a Gordini for IMS?

Pretty sure I was in Japan for that round, so I don't think I do I think that you came 3rd. :-0 But not to worry. I think that I have cobbled together something that works. Tagomago will not drive anything else at the moment and has not experienced the tyre melting characteristic of IMS, so I wanted to give him starting point.

I've played around with these cars a little and I find that the default setups wander, even on a straight.
Some are more driveable than others, as to be expected, but they all seem to decide where they want to go and its usually not where I want to go.
I've driven the same cars in GPL and find them much more driveable over there.
