When I came round on the pace lap, the cones at the last chicane were missing. But I still hit one that wasn't there a few laps later. I guess the game replaces the cones when the race starts but doesn't put the graphics back For me there were no cones in the last chicane (visualy and physicaly) but in the middle of the road on the start/finish straight. I hit it pretty bad but still managed to rejoin in one piece. I'm more woried about CTD which I've never experienced before.

Cool, I use the same settings. I wonder if there is some way I could FTP this? Or we could try a 12Mb email? If you have any free webspace from your ISP, you could use it. Quite easy to do. Or we can try the email route Another way is to use this: www.yousendit.comIt allows you to upload a file that you want distributed, then you email the link it gives you to whoever you want to receive it.

Sorry if this turns into a pain Paul but I'd quite like a copy of your replay too if poss. We need to get some kind of UKGTR BitTorrent system going for these big files flying around

Like others here, I also had game problems which affected my race somewhat. I had terrible frame rate problems so my qual lap was slower than normal, leaving me in 5th - not sure I would have been on the front row though. The race started well, as I managed to get past Mike as he rear-ended Bernie. Then it all went badly wrong, as I got a big freeze on the way out of 180, which lost me a place or 2, and then several more stutters which took me off into the gravel at Chateau D'eau. I was starting to think about quitting when the stuttering stopped and I rejoined in about 11th. The frame rate was still awful tho, and following cars though corners was much harder than normal. I gradually picked up a few places as drivers went off, and then had a good little battle with Popa until we both ran wide at Estoril, Popa more so, and I was past. Several more laps and I was up to 4th and then 3rd behind Tom, who eventually half spun at 180, leaving me in 2nd. Bernie was long gone by then so I was just trying to get to the end, but the frame rate problem finally caught up with me as I messed up Chateau D'Eau and let Tom back in front. Mike had a late dive down the inside into Lycee but I could tell it was ambitious and watched him sail past into the gravel. Then spent a few laps catching Tom, and on the last lap I was right on his tail into the final chicane. Gave it a bootfull in the vain hope of getting past, but spun, so knowing the next car would be along soon I used a trick I heard about from a 968 race driver who did much the same - I whacked it in reverse and got over the line that way! I was so relieved to get away with this that I totally missed the fact that it wasn't the last lap after all! Looking at the timings I was down as a DNF - doh! While I can blame myself for being stupid, on reflection I had my hands full just controlling the car at what seemed like 10fps, so I don't feel too bad about it now. May have to look into some hardware tho if this continues.
Paul

I'm a bit confused.... The results (on the front page) are showing that I finished 6th, however, I'm pretty sure that I was 7th over the line? I notice that PaulW thought he was 4th (earlier in the thread) and now he's moved up to 3rd in the results. Is this another GTR bug or did something happen to one of the top 3? Pops.

The results appear correct compared to the export but I did see some "wierdness" in the Race export file, with some drivers listed twice. First time I've seen that particular problem with the export. Would somebody like to volunteer to check the replay to see what the real finishing order was?

Okay, sorted that out. I wonder - did truetom and Paul Adams leave the race shortly after crossing the line or something? Or is GTR just rubbish? I've put a sanity check in the results importer now to try and prevent this in the future. Many thanks to Popabawa for pointing the error out.

Yeah, thanks a bundle Pops Nah, I can confirm I was 4th. Some people left I think Dave. How about we grab a screenshot as the last guy crosses the line for reference?

Now that I know about this particular problem it won't recur anyway - do we know if the screenshot would actually be correct anyway if, say, the winner disconnected before other drivers had finished? I suspect not...
