I will just continue in this thread, since we started it here.
Regarding the low turnouts. It seems its not only here, but also on iRacing itself. I was expecting so much from the Premier Indycar series, but the turnout was very disapointing.
117 different drivers entered the Laguna Seca race
Of those, 48 drivers entered more than 1 race.
The highest attendance was at 19.30 GMT, and that was only 36 drivers.
iRacing has what, 20.000 paying members? Of these maybe 12-15.000 race regulary? The usual online count in weekends in peak hours is around 3.000. Yet, only 117 enter something that was supposed to be a premier series. I was expecting atleast twice that amount. Maybe Im just naive (didnt check how many entered the oval races).
Is it the difficulty level I wonder, because it would need a lot of practise time. So it isnt something you just do, it requires commitment, wich it turn means some sacrifice. And its not just the IndyCars, its basicly all roadcourse based series from License C and up.
Add to that the aliens, untouchable lap times. Does that scare to many people of maybe. Do they think they have to meet that standard, or even to be within 3 seconds or something, to not be embarrassed?
It really puzzles me.
P.s. This is not targeted at anyone, its just a general thing Im desperately trying to understand
