Those marks are subjective of course. I know that cause my sister in law beat us Wink Didn't get those scores mind, nice one Ken.

Got my day at Thruxton as a surprise birthday treat and it was excellent value again. The karting was ace but there we had more time queuing for the cars which was a shame.
32  SimRacing In General / iRacing / Re: New Tyre Model on: July 21, 2011, 08:10:46 AM +0100
I recently fired up iR and it installed many an update for me. Has the skippy now got this new tyre model? It could be the time I've away spent away from it but I'm suddenly able to drive it rather well and I can actually wring its neck where I was rather driving by numbers before. Felt brilliant. Will be better when 2.0 comes out?

Its coming up to renew time and I need to make a decision  Smiley

33  Everything Else / Chit Chat / Re: Where to start - sims, hardware, community? on: July 19, 2011, 09:10:27 PM +0100
Welcome Sherlock  Smiley

So much choice  Smiley At the start I would suggest stick with one sim and get the hang of that. When I first started I found myself trying them all and getting nowhere as there are subtle differences, whilst all are undeniably fun.

Cyu on the simulated black stuff asap.

Hello Bob, great to hear all is well. You'll see things are still going strongish here which is a marvel considering how old these games are now.

Ironically, I'm not gonna be racing much through the summer but I look forward to passing and hitting you regularly again winter time Smiley

I'm working in New York City monday so I will not be able to race with you guys.

Bugger :'( Just had a quick blast in the 312 and its a great choice.

Top track, ta Tony.

Encouraging turnout for a Monday night, congrats Tony. Was there another race some went to?

No time for pracci left me a bit undercooked pace wise but had a ball. Bogged down at start, apologies to all. Had a fun time coming back with nice little fights with Ade, the Healey looks amazing from all angles, and GT. Then stuck with not a hope of catching Mike and having the occasional 917 and chronic understeer for company but  still enjoyed it as even hotlapping in these cars is fun. Tough break Mike as your pace easily deserved the win but there's always next week Smiley

Congrats to all and standards were spot on, not easy with the difference in pace (McNish anyone?). Great result for Team KC.

I had 4th all locked up until my mother-in-law (who doesn't speak much english) said there was someone at the door who wanted to talk to me. I pulled off to the side of the road just before the start/finish for a little 3 minute break. Shame how real life gets in the way of racing.

Put your frame/desk closer to the door and tell them to bugger off I'm racing, kind of Smiley

Ferrari 312P ginsters?

You're the boss Mike. Trust its a good motor Smiley

Cosi Chevron is quite a bit quicker, but the handling is spooky at best. I had to make radical setup adjustments just to keep it on the road. It still isn't to my liking, but at least it is predictable now. I'll likely drive it because I'm considerably quicker in that then the others.

In that case, you'll not have anyone to race anyone again  Smiley Only tried the Healey and that'll do for me, great fun.

Haven't tried the combo out yet but I'll prolly go with something Group 2 for this. Hope I have some company Smiley
42  UKGTL / UKGTL Announcements / Re: GTL is coming to Monday nights on: June 02, 2011, 01:34:30 PM +0100
For me, its a good move to 'be restricted to a maximum of five races per class'. I want to try out all the cars available. However, given the lowish numbers we might expect, would it not be a better ideas simply to have one class races? I'm guessing there might be races were just one or two people use a car from a certain class which isn't good. We would also have much closer racing and more competition if we are all in the same class? Multi class for Lemas of course Smiley

Just an idea and count me anyways, thank for putting this together Tony.
43  UKGTL / UKGTL Announcements / Re: GTL on Monday nights on: May 31, 2011, 03:26:38 PM +0100
Unsurprisingly, I'd like that Smiley

From last night only, I've not tested extensively, I did notice that the 917K had more oomph than the Lola and I guess the other cars aren't that well balanced. The Lola was also thirstier. Will a good track choice (as always Wink) close these gaps? Or is a sensible approach needed?

That said, Monday isn't ideal for me and the odd (one in three?) Thursday would be much better.

44  UKGTL / UKGTL Races / Re: UKGTL Season 11 - Spa (1967) - May 30 - DUSK on: May 30, 2011, 09:50:23 PM +0100
Thanks for laying that on Tony.

Had great fun battling Jaqen in first stint. He'd make the odd slip, then the 917 grunt would see him back with me in no time. Repeat until end of stint, good, fair driving. In those cars, that just had me beaming Smiley Sadly, that was pretty much it till end of race and ta to Ade for finishing it early (the shame if I crashed out and you won with the class II car Smiley).

Will gladly drive those cars again and again and again if need be Smiley Maybe a shorter race and lessen the chances of dodgy pitstops would be better next time, if there is one.

Perfect track for these big guns Cool

Doesn't work in the Alfa, for me. It just seems that you simply have your foot down all lap long and it makes a dreadful sound flat out. Was disappointed, then tried the Lola. Wild, wild ride. Much more like it Smiley

Sadly, I'm a bit touch and go for this dependant on whether a plasterer arrives at my place. No chance you say Wink
