Yep, there's a lot of series I like the look of, so will join what I can.

We've Son & Daughter home from Uni at the moment, and next Monday is Daughters birthday.  So I may be wrapped up in 'family' stuff.

That'll not stop me from hopefully competing in later rounds.

I like the look of the Fifties Series :-) , but I'll be hopefully getting involved in a few more events/series for sure.

Qual:After seeing practice times, was hoping for maybe a top 6, so getting a P4 on the grid was a pleasing result.

Race:Not being a great starter, I lost a couple of places off the line and into T1, but caution sometimes pays off, and a couple of the cars who'd passed me off the line got a bit tangled into T2.  That left me behind Mark, and we were on a similar pace, but I wasn't able to find a way past.  After Mark & Hristo's Incident, I got ahead, and was able to lap a little quicker than I had in the opening laps.

After that, it was a case of 'Will the Tyres last?'.  I'd not done a long run, but figured the front left was going to be marginal.  Looking at the Pit times from some, they'd changed tyres, and others hadn't.  I opted for the latter, and topped up with fuel only. I came out the pits in P2, with Ade closing fast.  Didn't defend the position, as there was too much race left, and I was more concerned with looking after the car to the line, and holding on to a P3.  Ade and Navin disappeared up the road, and I had a steady run to the flag, trying to maintain a decent gap to Geoffers behind me.

I've tried a 2nd install, but it gets messy, 'cos i'm having to make up a 2nd altbierbude.de account, so as not to mess with my existing one that works, so that plan isn't really working.

This provides a link to the 'autoupdater' (the one that d'loads most of Germany, and actually despite being left overnight, is still in progress as I type   )

Having looked again, that updater does offer the facility to 'check' what you do and don't want, so anyone not wanting to draw a mass of skins/tracks etc, could just 'uncheck what they don't want.

After d'loading the autoupdater (it gives programs for GTR GTL Race07 & Rfactor), just start up the 'Altbierbude' updater, uncheck the carskins/mods/tracks, and maybe that'll work. (i'm going to try that on another pc of mine later to confirm that works)

BTW do you still have LOBBY files in your main GTL folder and if you do what's in them?Oddly enough, I don't seem to have that file in my GTL install that I use to access the UKGTL server.  What i do have now is a line in my player.PLR in the multiplayer section right at the bottom which reads :-

Host IP Address="94.23.231.41"
Online Server="GTL_SERVER.txt"

this is just above my .plr login info

On my backup player .plr this field is just Host IP Address=" "

I tried amending this on my new install, but that alone wasn't enough to sort it.  Sorry i've no real answer at the moment.

tbh, at the moment, I tried a bunch of things, and can't be 100% of what actually worked, and what maybe wasn't necessary.

What I'll do tomorrow, is a fresh (secondary backup)  GTL install, and note it down as I go.

Yep, i underestimated the size of the d'load, though the skins all look great, so it's not a problem.

Looking through the lobby questions, it kind of pointed to their updater as a way to resolve my issue, as it suggested that it'd update the lobby info at the same time, so I'm hoping, that once d'loaded, I'll find myself in the correct lobby to join the Triumph server. :-)

As a bonus, I'll have a load of skins, but understand that I'll not be able to use them online here.

ok, I'm all registered there now, and receiving a massive update of gamedata.  I'll see where I am once that ends.

Currently in my LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT file, it says "gtlsrv.race-game.com" .  If I delete, and replace it with the I.P. 94.23.231.41, I just get a timed out error when trying to connect to anything.

I'm looking through some previous lobby issue forum threads and see a few other files I may need? https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6875.msg119681#msg119681 But I see they're from some time ago, so i'm not so sure on these.

I'm hoping to join this event if possible, which would be my UKGTL and simracing.org.uk debut.

I confirm that my Pit/AI .plr is updated as required, and understand that there's no TR4 in this race 

I've just been checking a few servers for compatibility, and seem to be able to find and join the GTR2 Spa event, and PnG Castle Combe server, but haven't seen Snetterton event on the GTL server list.

I'm keen to make sure I can join the sever with no mismatch type errors, and was wondering if the server is up for practice yet, or am I not finding it somehow, or am I jumping the gun?

Having had a look around at some of the events on offer, I'm hoping to be able to support some GTL, PnG & GPL events if I can.
