Is mod conflicting now sorted out? I remember joining the server on (some) Sunday was impossible when this mod was installed. Would like to try it, seems fun. Smiley

If we use the original mod we seem to be ok with it.

As Spanner said, the standard mod works fine (the link in this topic points to that.)

Just to be on the safe side I would still recommend you use a clean install.

Don't forget folks, the cut off point for skins to be added in time for the start of the championship is Sunday June 3rd, however if there are no skins to add we can get the championship started a couple of weeks earlier all being well.

Thanks to all who took part in tonight test.

The racing format seemed to me to work well, however we wont know for a couple of days.

There is a possibility of one more test race depending on skins submitted.

If you have experienced any issues or wish to make a comment on the mod or a suggestion to the race format, please feel free to do so.

Don't forget bad reviews are just as important as good ones so I urge you to make any comment on the mod.

Thanks again.

I didn't realise what was going on until I twigged that you had shut down the PnG server.

So I investigated and then downloaded the car and track but by then you were already in the race.

I did a spot of practice and found the Fiesta to be truly horrible on its default set up and didn't manage to improve it much either.

I stiffened the front ARB and managed to stop it wanting to turn itself inside-out at mid corner but generally after, say, 5 to 10 laps the left tyres went into the red and I spun it.

I imagine that once a decent set up is applied then they could give close racing; but I'm not a fan of little cars.

Well said, Clive. I also tried to amend a setup a bit but there isn't much you can do... I don't mind little cars, they usually mean close racing and fun - but not the front wheel drives. I can't drive them and I don't have fun driving them. Winning or not is not related to this opinion. Still, I might join a race or two if I have time. Smiley Problem is I'm usually engaged in Clan Wars over at World of Tanks.

The main thing to change in these cars in the brake balance. With the standard setup the cars are a wee bit unstable. If you change the balance to 55:45 or similar then that should cure that.

The front tyres do heat up pretty fast but in my opinion it doesn't make a huge difference. You just have to change the way you drive. e.g. instead of high 3rd gear to go round a corner, try going round it at the same speed in 4th gear. This will remove some wheel spin and eliminate some of the wheel spin.

I do understand that these cars won't be for everyone but they do take a wee bit to get used to.

Lol you wanted the bad as well!

With these kind of cars i dont think a longer second race really works, pitting just ruins the racing. In fact i kinda thought you get away with 10min races, as people just start drifting apart and its not like you have much chance to claw it back as you cant do too much with the cars, once the understeer kicks in.

Limrock doesnt have the longest straight but your still on the limiter for quite a way with it. I found i had to up the springs and dampers on the front, but lift off oversteer nature is what your'll get being fwd. I dont find it a nice way to drive particularly, you have to drive them aggresively to do anything but thats FWD in general.

A fun couple of races. Smiley

I had some close action in both races. Standing starts seem to be OK in these cars and they can offer some close racing.
