Another question: how does UKiR finance hosting races? Is there a way I can contribute, without using Paypal, cause that isn`t working in this world`s arse hole... If someone intends buying stuff from iRacing, I could send a gift card and that someone can make a donation on my behalf. Does that sound reasonable enough?
We're trying to split the iRacing financing from the rest of the SRouk financing so an iRacing gift card to the organiser (Adam Parle) go. PM Adam, I'm sure he'll be happy to give you his email address for that purpose!

Be careful Kruger, the Late Model is what I'd call a "Marmite" car, you either love it, or hate it!

Damn - those results got there in a hurry!! No coincidence with that and who won eh? Well done Dave, and well done all you Corvette pilots - scary closing speeds but no problems to speak of. I think me and Oily got our wires crossed which lost him some time, but other than that it was all really well done. Good racing Jonathan, I was expecting a rolling start until the lights appeared, made a solid start and got infront into T1. I had to get right on it as you were right up the back of me for the first few laps until you dropped back at T1 - sorry if my lines/braking points were different in the first few laps - that's a corner I really struggle with and I don't think I took it the same for two laps running! With the Vette's coming through the gap went up and down, but after a few too many 1x IP's for my liking (can't see me getting away with that in the season proper) I was well happy with the result. Shame the turnout wasn't better (bleeding part time Legends drivers .... ) - but hopefully the actual racing has put to bed any worries people had about the upcoming season. I for one cannot wait for Race One: The Glen. Cheers guys, look forward to seeing you on track again soon

Good racing tonight guys, I enjoyed it.
Well done Dave, it seemed like you was passing me every 2 laps, sorry if I got in the way. Grats on the win Adam, I had a bit of a panic at the start, your braking wasn't a problem, I came in to hard on T1 and had to lock up my fronts, I was shocked at the speed of the vettes, I didn't expect them to come so fast, I was impressed. It's a shame I din't catch you Adam, I'll try again in 2 weeks.
Thanks for hosting James, and thanks to all who organised it.
Take it easy.

Look at this traffic Look at all those Team Shark cars. Damn - those results got there in a hurry!! No coincidence with that and who won eh? With the Vette's coming through the gap went up and down, but after a few too many 1x IP's for my liking (can't see me getting away with that in the season proper) I was well happy with the result.
I didn't get any incident points until the 4x I picked up bouncing off you whilst doing doughnuts at the end. Great fun that. I think Tibor's setup or driving style was very different from my own; didn't get a good lap in during qualifying and was quite relieved to still get a front row slot; decided to engage first before the green and drive away on just throttle application and no clutch, which worked well, and was soon finding myself effectively stuck behind Tibor who was devastating late on the brakes and very fast through the bus stop, but slower on the throttle pretty much everywhere else. After a few laps and some hard racing we were into traffic, and an opportunity presented itself coming out of the Loop when he was unexpectedly slow, almost like a missed shift or something. I knew I might not get a better chance and dived through the gap between him on the right and the Mustang on the left to take the lead. After that he dropped back rather rapidly, not sure what happened but I was sad to see him go. That left Mike a steady two seconds behind; I was able to hold the gap stable until the final few laps when he suddenly put a spurt on (or my pace dropped off, not really sure which!) and I caught traffic in some awkward places when left him right up my chuff for the last lap. I concentrated on not making any silly mistakes and finished just three tenths of a second ahead. Phew! Well done to all the Mustang drivers - if anything you were too accomodating; I felt bad passing on the inside at the start of the Loop where I know it's really hard to hold a Mustang on the outside, I was worried I'd see one of you slide out into the wall when I had enough grip to pass you on the outside if you'd simply hugged the inside. I did have to be quite forceful on occaision with Mike so close behind - apologies to anyone I scared the carp out of! If anyone wants a bit more experience with the speed difference and owns the DP, the official Grand Am series is very similar in nature with the Riley being very similar in pace to the Corvette (although its balance is quite different - the C6R is much more like the Mustang in that respect).

I haven't driven the Vette much lately, and after the late arrival of my new PSU I had a couple of laps yesterday to remind myself what it did. Used the fixed setup and just drove around in practice, nearly didn't get a time in at all in Q, and tried a setup tweak for the race, which I'm not convinced about. Hey ho Found myself 3rd off the start and tried to settle in, but I wasn't getting it hooked up and once James was past Rob, he gained rapidly! We were working through the first batch of Stangs, passed a slow Tibor and then James and I went either side of poor Ian B I scraped the wall there As I was about to turn into the 2nd last turn, I notice that James is right on the inside and I tried to stay wider. Next time I looked at F3, he wasn't there any more. I didn't get any contact, but if I squeezed you, my apologies. Then it was trying to stay with Dave, but he was getting cleanly through the Stangs and I kept catching them in awkward spots, but I tried to look after my tyres and in the closing laps I was really able to keep the pace up and started to creep closer. Dave then got payback and had some awkward lapping which brought me right onto his tail, but ran out of laps So, 90mins will need a pitstop, 2hrs will need 2 stops by my rough working out. This should be good!

Many thanks for hosting, organising and more importantly inviting me along.
Bit if a disastrous qually run, Me and Mick both went for the same gap past a spinning car, it didn't end well for either of us.
What a good race, the speed difference between the two always provided some action, even if it was watching them fly past up the hill. At the start of the race I was trying to give the Corvettes as much room as possible, but when I was trying to catch 4th / 3rd place I decided to stay on line and let them overtake me. It seemed to work much better that way around, but still learning what is best for both drivers.
After closing a 20 second gap on Ben, lining up a move up the hill, looking to go two wide into the bus stop; A Corvette managed to squeeze through the ever decreasing gap between us. Needless to say it might have been a bit too brave, as we all ended up with a trip across the grass. I must admit I didn't see you coming and I could have easily avoided the entire situation if I had given more room for the pass, sorry for that.
Surprised I was so competitive in the Mustang, this is only ( I think ) the second time I've driven it, I spent most of the practice session adjusting the setup to give me some front end grip.
I will try and make the 'official' races, but might not be able to make it for every event.

Does any one know if Spa has been delayed ?, I read a couple of rumours on iRacing Forums, after a little digging about, Week 12 in the Williams has been replaced with Road America, but still remains on the latest PDF roster.
There are no staff announcements confirming it's delay.

IMO this is the best practice going forward. As the Corvette's have more grip and speed, it's easier for us to go off line than the Mustang's. After closing a 20 second gap on Ben, lining up a move up the hill, looking to go two wide into the bus stop; A Corvette managed to squeeze through the ever decreasing gap between us. yea sorry for that....it did look good on the replay though If I was a little to aggressive I apologise...all though the gap was there, so I thought it was better for me to overtake than to maybe put you guys off by hanging around behind you through the bus stop. I am prepared to be proved wrong though. Very much looking forward to the official start of this series, If we get a large number of people joining it should be an epic!!!
