Title: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: FullMetalGasket on September 04, 2020, 05:26:34 PM +0100 We have just moved to a new server due to the issues we were having earlier this week - As a result I am squeezing a test race in next week instead of the 1st round of the RSR Challenge
(http://) We'll be taking the Lotus 25 F1 car for a spin around Anglesey, so as that's also the 1st round of the Porsche series you have no real excuse not to join in ;) Password: see above Practice: 19:30 (45 mins) Qual: 20:15 (15 mins) Race: 20:30 (30 mins + 1 lap) Cars allowed: Lotus Type 25 (Kunos Dream Pack #3 add-on) Track: Anglesey - Dry Download link: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/anglesey-circuit-trac-m%C3%B4n-wet-weather.9100/ (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/anglesey-circuit-trac-m%C3%B4n-wet-weather.9100/) Live Timing: here (http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat) Time of Day Setting: 14:30 Weather: Mid-clear Start: Standing Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit-stops: Not required Server track settings: SESSION_START=100 RANDOMNESS=0 LAP_GAIN=0 SESSION_TRANSFER=N/a Damage: 60% Password: see above PLP App - Not used in this series. Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Syd Drake on September 04, 2020, 09:40:46 PM +0100 Live timing link is not properly formatted. I think you do get the proper link when you click on it, but it's giving me a "The connection has timed out" page.
I tried it a little bit, and I feel like the car has no brakes. Feels like 50s f1 car rather than 60s. Don't remember brakes being so bad in 65 gpl :) Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: FullMetalGasket on September 05, 2020, 07:46:40 AM +0100 I think I know what's wrong there - will be fixed in an hour or 2!

Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: spanner on September 06, 2020, 06:11:16 PM +0100 Eeek, lets just drop straight in to the deep end. I know these have been run before, can anyone suggest a stable setup?
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: FullMetalGasket on September 06, 2020, 08:16:41 PM +0100 I honestly think the problem is that they're a bit too stable - I'll be trying to make mine a lot looser based on the quick test I did after starting the server!
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Stefan aka Postal on September 07, 2020, 12:29:36 PM +0100 I won't be home this wednesday evening, so I'll be seeing you lads the week after when we start the 911 RSR season. Looking forward to it.
Cheers, and happy racing! Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: spanner on September 07, 2020, 01:10:19 PM +0100 Having just seen my desk allocation at work this week, I wont be able to do Wednesday night now.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Fabri Fibra on September 08, 2020, 08:41:13 PM +0100 Very complicated track to learn. I also changed several setups before the car started working decently. It will not be easy.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: spanner on September 09, 2020, 04:24:45 PM +0100 I will be turning up now, hours after posting, my work situation changed again ::)
I can see this being quite dangerous with people driving at different rates, especially through that long right-hander up the hill. If I'm in the middle of the track its not because I'm blocking its because that's the safest line to make sure I don't understeer off going through it! Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Syd Drake on September 09, 2020, 08:45:44 PM +0100 I jumped the start and got a drive through.
I'm not sure if I was doing it wrong, but I went twice through the pits, never got pit limiter to turn on and it was never counted as drive-trough so I got dq'ed. Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Fabri Fibra on September 09, 2020, 09:42:57 PM +0100 I think the pit lane was bugged here.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: FullMetalGasket on September 10, 2020, 11:29:25 AM +0100 Well, that was going great until I ran wide and impaled myself through a tire wall at the end :-[
I'd forgotten how much fun these cars are! Well done to Fabri on the win and all the finishers for humiliating me ;D For some reason the pit lane seems to be odd, I don't see complaints about that on RaceDepartment so am unsure why it wasn't quite working for us. I've edited the server files for round 1 of the RSR's so the cars are locked until the lights go out to avoid anyone needing to pit (The Porsches will do 30 mins easy on tires/fuel here). This will be a one off for this round and normal start procedure will be used for all other races. On that note the Porsche practice server is running now - the threads and championship listings will appear in due course! Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: frex on September 10, 2020, 12:02:38 PM +0100 Love the car. but found this track a nightmare to try and learn - blind corners that all look the same, no brake markers and sticky walls made for a frustrating practice session! Will need to put in more laps before the Porsches next week. Sorry to see several cars fall off early on, made it a bit lonely after the first few laps. Congrats to Fabri.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: Fabri Fibra on September 10, 2020, 04:08:47 PM +0100 I was just lucky.
Even for me this track was a nightmare, the car was really difficult in braking and entry. Fortunately, I didn't make big mistakes during the race. I was quite slow, but from the middle of the race on I was running on decent times, keeping the gap with Tim not too big. Although I was at 5-6 seconds and saw him in some parts of the track, I didn't see his accident and so I was definitely surprised to find that I was in first position when they showed me the table. I've done the last two laps slow as a snail because I was going to run out of petrol. ::) Congratulations to all participants and bad luck for Tim and Syd. Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: KDiesel on September 10, 2020, 04:18:44 PM +0100 I get frustrated with this car & track combo, I like classic cars but that one feel pre-historic era stuff.... :hang:
Title: Re: UKAC Season 16 - Anglesey - Sep 9 Post by: IbnSolmyr on September 10, 2020, 09:18:59 PM +0100 Loved it, but f**ked it.. ::)
Made multiple stupid mistakes, then I passed Syd while there was an off track car (can't say who) so I thought it was a yellow flag overtake, then I waited for Syd to pass me back, only to see in the replay that he actually had done a drive-though.. :death: After I did again some mistakes. Anyway, all went wrong here. Weird cause while training I was quite consistent. |
