Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=331;theme=5)

Special Notes: This event is started by a flagman on the right hand side of the circuit. Recommend turning the start countdown on.

Why do all threads keep updating in this forum section? Some kind of bug or virus? I'm getting lost which race comes next with all those old threads being bumped up lol.

The current races appear under the Forthcoming banner at top right of home page. This should be your reference point for what's err forthcoming.  ;)

These other races that keep cropping up are being posted by some idiot and are all of next years events.

Replay and results now posted

Sorry for the track miss-match fiasco tonight and for the late start. I had updated the track back in September and although the download was updated to suit, the server wasn't. Late server start was due to me having the day off work and a rather busy day doing mundane stuff, and the dreaded Christmas shopping, groan.

Thank you Navin - had an intervertebral disc operation back in 1997 and wear did not ameliorate condition over
the years although I did sports my whole life. It's an everlasting up and down with tendency down  :(

Congrats to Mark on the victory, you were the fastest so deserved it.

Had a great first few laps dicing with Mark, the slipstream effect here was quite pronounced & it was quite easy to draft past on the Hanger Straight. Mark went off at Becketts about lap 5 & left me with a handy lead over Syd, stretched that out to about 9s before Mark regained 2nd & gradually started to catch me. Was only a few tenths a lap & I reckoned I just had to keep it on the black stuff & would still have about 3s in hand at the end.
BUT, about 5 laps to go I too went off at Becketts & Mark regained the lead, so had to settle for the runner-up spot.

Congrats also to Syd in 3rd & also Ross & Tony.

Yep, well done all. Shame for the numbers, but driving the Cobra around that Silverstone config was great fun on your own :-)

After a silly mistake near the end of the lap, early on in the race, I ended up about 7 or 8 secs behind Syd, and the gap stayed just about the same to the flag, with both of us putting in similar lap times.  Just the speck of a Cobra and the odd cloud of tyre smoke from a locked brake as I reached a corner now and then to remind me that I was close to P3.

:) Qualified P1 with a last minute set up change to get an edge on Geoffers.......I went for long gears and max tyre pressures, a must at this long straights track, and beat Geoffers to pole on very low fuel. Now with quali over do I keep this setup which I had not tested on full fuel..... decisions decisions :P :-[ :-\ ;D ...Lets risk it!!

Green light and Geoffers blows me away off the line having better gearing, but I manage to stay with him and draft past down the straight. We have a great battle till lap five when I over cook it at Becketts.

I'm now dicing with Syd whom puts up a good fight but eventually as the fuel burns off my car comes into the zone and just gets better and better. I pass Syd then begin slowly to close on Geoffers but its going to be tight!! Luckily for me Geoffers spins in the closing stages gifting me a nice easy finish to P1.  ;)
