From my race there in November 2010 (so I can't say what the new build might have done to times)... Q-1:04.093 R-1:05.034
From recollection, the F1 is all about going around corners way faster than you think you can (if you're not scared you're not going fast enough) and braking way later than you think you can (if you think you can make the corner then you're not braking late enough), i.e. the car is all about driving it way past what you think a car could physically acheive.
The F1 is completely barking and if it doesn't feel like you could fall off at any moment then you're nowhere near your/the limit.

Oh the other thing to remember about the F1 is that it's way slower with a lot of fuel on board, much more so than any other car in iRacing.

... I'll schedule the race in advance - will you want a practice session on the Sat? It is Champions League final and Indy 500 day so I wonder if it's worth bothering?
Will be watching Chapions League final. My reasoning is that even 4 hours practise will not make me much faster with same safety, so I be way off pace either way

Server up - sorry it's a bit late, literally just got through the door. Have good one chaps, gutted not to be joining you for this! :'( UNLIMITED RESETS tonight as I figure you might need them . If you are having a shocker and are using your resets please just be aware of anyone lapping you, closing speeds can be a little bit mental in this thing!

I'll check back into the server near Q session start time. Did a few laps practice which was enough for me.

Yep - I made it further in than I expected but eventually the inevitable happened and I lost the car over the bumps on the exit of Westfield - stoved the front right in but car was still just about drivable, but with a meatball I had to pit and the crew wouldn't let me out again to see if I could struggle round fast enough to get third. I want to know where my one reset was. I should've been instantly repaired on entry to the pits as I hadn't stopped before that.

well I took a tow and it was holding me in the pits and the count down when I took note was 5:35 and I had already been lapped at least 1 time by then sad part was I was actually enjoying driving the car but I got a better start than I thought I would get and wasn't sure exactly where simon was and I was concentrating so hard not turning in on him I ended up drifting out to wide and off the track knew I should have done what my instinct told me and started from the pits

Well that was the easiest win of my life, but not really a proper race with so few people. Sorry to Pete for lapping him, but with everyone but you and Raimo gone, my only target left was to lap everyone.
