Dunno if anyone here will be interested but Fernando Alonso has signed for Mclaren for 2007 http://www.formula1.com/news/3893.html and has also signed Gary Paffet
as a test driver

My betting is Kimi to Ferrari in 2007 when MS retires.

Lol, don't think so. Maybe he spent 10mil on Alonso, but I'm reckoning Montoya and Raikonen will be 2-3mil cheaper...

Theres also the rumour that the major manufacturers will make a break away championship as they are totally pissed at the way F1 is being managed. Also rumour that Valentino Rossi from MotoGP is about to sign a deal for 2007 in a ferrari. IMHO F1  has now become so boring many people would rather wash the dishes. Wander how sponsorship will be affected...if at all.

Yeah, GP Masters, Touring cars, Superbikes, WRC, Curling.. it's all better than F1 at the moment. For me, it started a long slow slide away from what the fans want with the introduction of grooved tyres. I hope they do start a break away series, if only to keep Bernie and Max on their toes. On the plus side, it's always funny watching the ITV team try to make it sound exciting Wink

found out about this early on in the week, was happy at first until i put two + two together, got 5, and realised the rumours of Kimi going to Ferrari may end up coming true, but hope he stays at Mclaren when Alonso arrives as that driver line up would be way  Cool.

F1 + Overtaking x Battling + Slick tyres =  Cool Grin

Berni + Max -Slicks + Groves x formation racing = 5h1t3

Saying that tho, this season has been an improvement. Smiley

The new rules for 2008 have proper slicks standard ecu look here for detailshttp://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=34759 think the cdg wing idea looks quite interesting tho

F1 has had a far too high emphasis on aero for ages, if you want close racing, just need massive tires with limited aero.

thats the idea of the cdg the rear wing is placed over the wheels only so the majority of the rear of the car is free from aero so there is less disturbacne to the car following, couple this with the re-introduction of proper slicks and you have..............
less aero grip and more mechanical

Yeh, but its too dictated IMHO oh and doesnt look like a race car any morethey'd be better saying that the surface of the car can only be on one plane, instead of just patching the regulations again.
