Good result for team Shark in GTC 1st-4th  Grin

Did a PB in qually and got pole in class and 7th overall. The Beamer of Adam was impossible to gain and I had no chance to move up the grid.
So I had to focus on Colin in his RSR behind me. Very close racing for few laps untill he made a textbook outbraking manouvre  thumbup1.

Then Zacari was behind me gaining fast, but luckily for me the race stopped at 21 laps.

Grats to Mo for the overall and GT2 win.

I'll struggle badly at Adria with the Mosler and all the extra weight  surrender

Thanks Jeffery, really enjoyed that. I'm not a fan of Monza and I honestly thought I'd struggle here. Was really happy with a top 10 qually. Made a decent start and the car felt really good so I concentrated on getting a good pace together. Tyres were starting to go on the last few laps and missed my line a few times allowing Jeffery to get close again. Managed to hold on the a rather pleasing 7th!

Congrats to Mo and the podium. And you Jeff for the GTC class win. Some driving in the Mosser.

I never got a moments let up, involved a 3 way fight the whole race with Backo and Colin Hines. It was a cracking battle, hope they enjoyed it as much as i did.  Cool

I certainly did. I've decided to go with the Lambo for GT1. I find it nicer alround over the 550. Had an okay qually, there was a low 1.29 in there somewhere but someone must have been hiding it on me!

The racing was great between MJ and Backo. Must be honest MJ if you'd stayed infront, you would have stayed there. But you put on alot of pressure in the last ten and i'm just glad I held my nerve!

which was a welcome relief from Colin's RSR behind which was rapidly if sporadically gaining

Ah, that's just my style I guess  Roll Eyes Grin

Interesting first race for Season 6.

Qualified okay in mid-pack in the mid 35's. Got an okay start not giving away any places. With tyres still cold and full fuel load on board it was tricky enough. Got a nudge in curva 4 which dropped me back to around 20th I think. Worked my way back up once I got settled and had a nice race with Darren. Nice stuff mate. Got ahead and managed to put the 2 350Z's under a bit of pressure. Simon made a little error and ran wide so for the rest of the lap I was quicker. Got around the outside of him through 13 and took the defensive line into 14. Missed my braking point too early and Simon nudged me. My own fault I guess, shouldn't have paniced and closed you in so soon Simon. So back to square one. Chased down pops and Darren and passed a few others. Into the last lap after a great scrap with the 2 Legends guys, and what do I do? Get 2 wheels on the grass into curva 8(I think). Managed not to spin it and rejoined in 13th. Unlucky for some I guess....

Well done to Winner and podium guys.

I then spent the remaining 20 minutes with Colin glued to my back bumper.  But like Sunday there was no way anyone was getting past.  Great driving Colin.  I know we both had damaged cars, but from my rear view mirror you car looked a mess.  Grin  I'm amazed at your speed...

It was a mess mate, can't believe I got nothing over the radio to say I had mechanical damage!
44  UKGTR / UKGTR Races / Re: UKGTR Season 5 GT2/GTC Sprint - Magny-Cours (GP) - Jul 10 on: July 10, 2007, 09:53:33 PM +0100
Well that didnt go to plan.

Qualified well and was good enough for a top ten finish. Started the race well and my set-up was great. A few laps in there was a warped car stuck right in the middle of T3. Tried to avoid head on contact, swerved, and caught its rear. Flipped I dont know how many times, landed in the sand and hit the wall. Thought it was over. Got back on track and it felt like it was still going in a straight line. By this time I was last. Put in a few laps to see how it was but my aero damage had made it like driving on ice. I decided I would keep going rather than throw away 40 odd seconds on a stop. Battled my way through the field but the car was a bitch to handle. Tyres had plenty of grip but it would stay stuck to the track. Finally caught up with Darren and even though I felt quicker in a few places, I was never fast enough to pass at all.

Crikey, this racing league lark never fails to surprise me. Never had a race like that before Smiley

Terrible quali left me languishing a bit but thought I could keep up with, and even challenge TT in front of me if I got up to pace. That was the plan, but from the very first lap I had Colin's fezza up my arse. I wasn't going to make it easy to pass but no way did I think I could defend for the whole 40 minutes wheelchair. He powered up to me on the straight and I parked at the hairpin every lap. If you imagine DC vs MS as Magny a couple of years back, you got it. Hope Colin didn't go all crazy DC on my ass Grin.

Colin, congrats on some fantastic racing. Many would have spanked their way past, but you showed admirable skill/patience angel .

Have to say the same for you too. As I said you defended well. The hairpin is the only real passing place out there. I tried going inside and round the outside but to no avail! Good stuff! Smiley
