Following on from last nights most enjoyable, if not brutal, Spa event I'm considering creating a fortnightly series dedicated to these awesome cars (Porsche 917K, Lola T70, Ferrari 512S etc etc). Ideally I'd be looking to running these on alternate Monday nights (which I believe are free at the moment here?). To alternate with the current Thursday night GTL events that is. I'm thinking (out loud) of a nice long series comprising 60min races (no pit stops). So, to get the ball rolling, it would be really nice if I could get some suggestions for circuits that would suit these monsters. Please don't be shy. Pm me with your suggestions (as many as you want). Modern day, fantasy or historic, all will be considered. Le Mans will probably be the season finale so don't bother suggesting that one. Thanks in advance, and I'll publish the list of tracks as soon as there finalised.

With my work schedule I may not be able to race all the time, but off the top of my head, i'm thinking of Watkins Glen (is the old original 60's version available?) Jops Reims Rouen Hockenheim (old version that runs through the forest) Interlagos 1979 the old A1 ring (i forget the name now) maybe a one off at Matchwerk?

Unsurprisingly, I'd like that From last night only, I've not tested extensively, I did notice that the 917K had more oomph than the Lola and I guess the other cars aren't that well balanced. The Lola was also thirstier. Will a good track choice (as always ) close these gaps? Or is a sensible approach needed? That said, Monday isn't ideal for me and the odd (one in three?) Thursday would be much better.

My hearts with you but my head agrees with you Tony, trying to find adequate practice time. Am in a busy period with long weekends coach tours and quests coming to stay. Personally it would help me if we raced on the old tracks we've used before or were used in the GTLDK Le Mans Series. The old Silverstone, Reims, Brands, Bathurst, Zolder etc come to mind.

Sorry Guys but Monday's it is. I need to avoid clashing with the other racing series being run and I'm not disrupting the two Thursday GTL series for anyone.
However next year/season it may be all change and I'm sure these 70's beast's will be on the menu again. This time out it's more for fun (and practise) than anything else.

I'm listening Bill. But surely not Bathurst BTW no wonder you get tired if you invite quests to stay

HAhaha.. because the race was not finished the AutoSim Analyzer won't let me create a web report Respect your choice of night but please consider running this as a Thursday night series when the current GTL seasons have finished. Still gutted I couldn't revisit the 'Screaming Tart'..

Consider it considered, however I don't know if GTL will occupy Thursday nights next year.

When you live on the coast with all the attractions (Britain's shortest pier, donkey rides on the beach, miles of golden sand and a lovely view of Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station :'( ) it's hard to refuse all ones nearest and dearest.
