OK guys thanks for the files/advice/help which is all most welcome.
Yesterday I spent many hours trying to find my way past this stupid problem, all to no avail. I re-installed the download pack into a fresh virgin install.......I replaced the Jag folder in TC-65 with the one that Tony sent me........I double checked that I had added the small update file to tweak the suspension/tyres that Tony issued........I even re-installed the Goodwood track........I tried a new driver profile......I tried every which way through the menus within GTL to get at the Jags and purchase /use them. In the end I deleted the fresh install with all of the various changes that I had attempted as I figured that I had gone too far down a dark path that was only going to cause me ( and others ??) more grief in the future.
I then gave up on the problem resolving to come back today ( Friday ) and start afresh.
To calm my fevered brow I fired up GPL for some practice, I have races today and Sunday to prepare for and spent 30 mins happily driving cars that wanted to be used
By then it was time for food and the evening meal, so I left my rig intending to return later in the evening, but we got sucked into a programme series on TV and I totally forgot all about my PC.
Like an elephant, it appears that Microsoft NEVER forgets and this morning I discovered that my PC was still ON ( I normally shut down after races/practice etc ) and that Win 10 had taken the opportunity to perform an update that I had been postponing since early Jan, much to my irritation!
I fired up the original BSCC install a) to see if Win 10 had screwed anything as it has in the past in GPL and GTL. b) to have another go at breathing life into the Jag.
It seems that I might owe Bill Gates a grovelling apology, or at least some credit for what his software appears to have done. ( or more likely, maybe something that we tried yesterday sorted things when GTL rebooted today?) I can now access the Jags and was able to purchase all 7 through the Car Dealer, something that was not possible before as the BUY button was permanently greyed out.
I swear that I do not touch stuff that is working as regards GTL and GPL. The BSCC worked fine at Snetterton with all cars available and on track, so why it should suddenly change for Goodwood I have no idea. I joined the server for a quick test/check of the BSCC on Wed p.m., for the first time since closing down after Snetty, and that was when I discovered that there were no Jags available. I duly reported this on the forum just in case there was a glitch somewhere in the system.
These problems are becoming a source of acute embarrassment to me. I know that I am woefully ignorant of how computers function and how software interacts etc. and I try to steer a very cautious path and not do anything that might screw things up. But these clusterf*cks keep happening. I am eternally grateful for everyone's patience and help in resolving my dumb problems.
So, I still have no idea what was wrong, what happened to cause the problem or what actually fixed it, but the BSCC install appears to be fully functional now with all 7 of the 3.8 Jags available, so once again I am not going to touch it until the next round...................fingers crossed it all works then.
