In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!
This is what you do to connect to the server:1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK 2) Start GTL & select to the lobby 3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password) 4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of serversIf this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Tuesday night ). _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All members welcome. Grid/server capacity: 28 Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Race: 20:40 (36 laps = ~70mins) Track: WATKINS GLEN (GP) download hereCars allowed: Porsche 935 Download here, Porsche 934 Download here, BMW CSL GR.5 & Turbo Download here, Porsche 911 RSR, Chevrolet Corvette '69 or '74 Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: ON (Get the Porsche 935 tyre wear fix here) Fuel consumption: 2x Server: UKGTL REPLI-race Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page. (4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Just to remind you GTL fans that the poll for choosing next seasons main event has only one more day to run. And I can tell you that it's mighty close between three choices

I know nothing about the 935 and 934, are they similar to the 906? And what is the BMW like, is that just a powerful version of the standard CSL?

934 is like a normal 911, 935 is a turbonutter 911ish animal with big toothypegs, which only unusually talented drivers can master. Turbonutterbeemer is a CSL version of the 935, and slightly less maniacal.

Well here's my take: 934=911 on steroids. Big turbo lag, 4 gears and prefers not to go around corners. Quite fun, but not a competetive choice in this series. 935=911 on even more steroids. Unbelieveably quick, but likes to go around in circles if you don't treat the throttle with care. Gr5 non turbo is like a very quick CSL. A joy to drive, but lacks the speed compared to 935 and Turbo Beamer.... Turbo CSL like the Gr5 but a lot quicker. Again big turbo lag and judicious use of the throttle required when exiting corners. The Glen is a great track for the 935 and Turbo CSL. Hope to see you there

Goldtops descriptions are spot on, but I personally find the turbo lag less noticeable on the Beemer. The Porsche will break your wrists!

Another day, another enduro, another cock-up. Worried about fuel consumption with my setup so I went for a factionally higher gear race setup. It was like driving a different car and my braking distances were too short so I cuffed the Armco and messed up the suspension. Another early bath. Bill

Bad luck Marco, you were flying. I made a poor start, went with auto clutch for safety, Phil and Tony coasted by, but I got 'em at the 1st turn and proceeded to hassle Ade for the next 6 laps, finally got past after he slipped up, and made a small gap Caught Nav and Paulo near 1/2 way, couldn't quite get close enough to try for a pass, and then it was flashing blue light time (no not the Cops) went into pits at end of lap 18 in 4th, came out 5th, Ade had somehow put his mechanics on speed, and mine were dawdling, could not believe my luck when Paulo and then Nav both had to pit a second time I did last lap with the blue light flashing but made it ok to luck a 2nd place Great fun at this track with these cars

Couldn't face 70 mins with the nutters, so opted for a leisurely drive in the RSR. Had a nice little battle with Alex, but was soon spending more time in my mirrors than looking ahead as the turbos started lapping. Inevitably I missed my mark into the fast corner and had a big off, which put me in the pits for seemingly endless repairs. Ended up running out of fuel in the pitlane while trying to make a splash/dash late on and watched everyone finish as I tried to roll sloooooooooooooowly to my box. Edit: Hope this didn't cause the delay in posting the results Congrats to pody and finishers and hard luck to CM.

Can I remind all drivers that swear words in chat will not be tolerated.
Also please always observe pit lane speed limits during all sessions.
