Also, I've only driven into the pits once & I wasn't sure exactly where the pits started, so worth checking that out too.

Yeah, I wondered about that too.  There is a white line well into the pits area - I wonder if that's where the official pit start is?

Being a cautious old trout I usually have the limiter engaged well before the actual pit start

Erm, I don't recall reading anyone else mention it so thought I should... I don't think there are any lights or green flag waving bloke at the start, so everyone will need to use the countdown. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Ta Legzy. There is a chap with a flag (thats what threw me) but your're right he doesn't wave it  Huh

There are no start lights/flags for this event so please all use the countdown method

Haddocking carp and other fish-related expletives, first time in ages been in the mood to race and the system locks - well the graphics did while the PC ran on.  Hope my car was clearly visible to everyone until I killed the router. Couldn't even get to Rivatuner to see what my temps were like, but I suspect it may have got a little warm on one of the cards........bad overclock, bad boy.

Was being a great race, with a heavy brimmed Pantera against Ian's faster Cobra (and Martin's GT40 for good measure), lots of close stuff, I'd just calculated I was unlikely to need any fuel, just tyres, then it crashed.  I blame the HUD which I'd brought up, it made the graphics hang, honest.

Oh well, next time.

Real shame that Steve, was corking while it lasted. I didn't have much more luck as me pit crew wouldn't help either time I asked for it and I did need fuel. Stupid game Tongue

Not sure what happened there Phil. I thought you left room on the outside but then closed the door on me, sorry if I was to blame.

Enjoyable race but hard work in the GT40, got a good jump of the start and jumped Matt R but couldnt stay with Madd,  Had Matt R behind me for about 12 laps or so but inevitability he got past in some trafic. Made my stop thougth to my self " nice quick pitstop" then relized half a lap later  i hadnt put any fuel in the car so went back the the pits which left me a lap down and in 9th place.
Managed to get back up to third .
Gt40 would have done the whole race on one tank.

Well done Madd and Matt. and everyone who finished .
Lappers were top notch as usual ..Bill a little bit too polite, you dont need to drive on the grass to let me through old chap Wink

Cheers

Wow, awesome race.

Grabbed a great GT40 set up from Dan, thanks buddy  Grin

Qualified in 10th, had a good start and was up to 6th by the first corner.
Had a fantastic really close battle with Steve and sbg for 60% of the race.
Eventualy pitted from 4th, changed tyres and added fuel and was back in 7th.
At this piont I thought my strategy had let me down!
Amazed to eventually make it up to 5th, then squeezed past ( errm, oh, forgot? sorry?)
in the Pantera to get 4th back.
Was running well but Ade was keeping me sweating for the last 6 laps.
Luckily the chequered flag came out and saved me!

Racing with Steve and sbg was the closest racing I have had for the longest time within a race for as long as I can remember.
Absolutely, why I'm here.

Brilliant!

Thanks all

M.

That pesky man got me off pole with a last ditch lap, then did the same in the race with a 1.18! Swine!  Cheesy

Made a very good start and got into T1 first and then just tried to get the hammer down, both Dan and Matt were breathing down my neck for ages, but due to them scrapping I slowly got a bit of a gap and then just tried to be consistent, lapping in the mid 19's for most of the race is what helped me imo. Smiley

I took no risks and just took my time passing backmarkers, as Dan said though, keep to the track, there's no need to put yourselves at risk, and thankyou, the car has no lights to flash my appreciation!  Tongue

Pistop went well and joined with about 20 seconds to Matt, so decided to again be consistent and started lapping in the low 19's, finally getting to about 35 seconds in front at the end.  Smiley

Congrats to both Matt and my Teamie Dan for a good race and also to those that finished.

PS At least if we decide to use PnG there will be less problems with pistops...hopefully!

Well the M1A burned brightly, and the flame didn't actually go out, though it pretty nearly
suffocated me a few times..
A Dan said, got jumped at the start, that M1A is not nice on cold, or very worn tyres
Had some fun chasing, but was losing time having to sit behind Dan. what  Shocked
oh that sounded good, I think I need to say that again "but was losing time having to sit behind Dan". laugh and had to watch MADD slowly evaporate into the distance
I doub't I would have stayed with him in any case, I might have matched pace for
a while, but would likely be the 1st one in the wall.

Not so sure about back markers, I nearly ended my race a few times with people
not moving out of the way, out braking me at the end of the pit straight (not hard to do )
having to take evasive action only to find my setup and the state of the tyres would
not go for that, towards the end  realised that though I was catching people, I was
actually getting in the way of their local battles, so just fell back unless someone
made a very obvious dive out of the way. Sometimes people could not be polite enough
other times I guess they were involved in their own race. I think passing in the Mc
with knackered rears is an art I need to go to night school for  Grin

Damm fine race though, was surprised to find Dan not in 2nd when I caught Ade
now I understand.

We will if we can but there is no obligation on us to do so. The rules state.....

Lapping And Being Lapped

The lapped driver should not change their line on a straight whilst being lapped.
A driver may elect to hold a tight line out of a corner and remain on the inside to allow a lapping driver to pass them using the normal racing line.
Drivers should not suddenly slow in the middle of a corner unless they are on the outside and the lapping car is clearly inside them.
The lapped driver should hold a predictable line and allow the lapping driver to move around them. The lapped driver may blend off the throttle slightly to help the lapping car past; drivers being lapped by cars in the same or slower classes are strongly encouraged to do so.
A driver should never lift off or brake on a straight with another driver right behind them.
The lapping driver should wherever possible prefer a pass under power to a pass on the brakes.
This frequently means being patient and going through at least one corner following the driver about to be lapped, setting the pass up.
A driver who is about to be lapped shall not unreasonably hold up the faster competitor.

Hmm, I did say I need to go to nightschool for it. And I am not having a go at anyone in particular
but, possibly due to people engrossed in their own fights, letting me through would not be top
of their Christmas list. I'm not used to having that much closing speed on other cars
if I get flashing blue lights I jump out of the way as soon as I safely can, there were times
tonight when I most certainly was held up and it took a heck of a lot more than one corner to get past. I agree though, just cos I jump out of the way and make sure the guy gets past
doesn't mean other have to.
