I was struggling for confidence into the slower corners but probably just need ot put more laps in.

Are front missile's allowed for this once? :P

B'ah how are you guys so easily gliding into the 31's? I eeked a few more tenths off last night but nowhere near getting a 31  :'(

i didnt hit the 31 mark yet, but im close.

i found that T2 makes you really lose time if you do it wrong, so maybe you just tackle this corner the wrong way?
focus on a late turning point, not hit the inner curbs to much, so you can get on throttle super early.

T1 and the two left handers T4-5 are crucial too. for T1, i break at 120-110 maybe, shift down rapidly to 2nd and try to settle the car before the apex, and then you can hit the throttle again. but make sure you dont hit the outside curbing. For T4-5, i take them in 3rd and 4th.

Hit the inner curbs on the last corner tho.. if you think you are already doing it, do it even more aggressively :D these cars eat those curbs for breakfast.

I found staying in 3rd for T1 is even quicker. Same process for the rest of the corner, though be ready to expect some oversteer on cornerexit.

Found that with these things its better to brake abit early and make sure uou get back on the throttle soon as possible.

Not sure about setup yet. I quickly gave it abit more arb and then just drove around, might do some more testing tonight.

I cant find any significant differences in setup changing in this car. But toe and camber. No idea how to drive faster in this track...

Just a reminder for the newer guys, we highly recommend using the 'helicorsa' app for close racing. It works well for letting you know if a car is alongside or in a blind spot.

Skins are not a problem, you can still join if you don't have them.
Maybe you didnt't buy the Red Pack DLC with the Red Bull Ring?

Maikel, you went from hero to villain overnight   :gun_bandana:  :laugh: what the hell happened at the start?

Qually was fascinating, swapping places throughout the session only to be pipped by...you guessed it, Simon  :clown:  :death:

Had about my best start of the series only to come to a complete halt and grass excursion about 20m down the track behind Maikels stationary car  ::) that was the catalyst for a series of disasters that dumped me right down to the back  :'(
Now in the pack proper with all the jostling porkers I got nastily spat off the outside kerb of t2 and spun hard into the barriers  :( - to the back again.
Lap3 I caught Chris, spanner and apex in a fight. On lap 4 I Got a great exit out of t2 on Chris and edged ahead down the hill with the inside line to the right hander. But I'm afraid Chris not only squeezed me further and further onto the verge but then turned in on me and stuck me into the Armco with nowhere to go  :( expect a visit from the stewards   >:D
Anyway from the back a third time I set off after the distant pack with at least a 10 sec deficit to top 12  :surrender:
I caught and passed numerous cars for the rest of the race until I got to Pete and we then had a fantastic battle for the last few laps  :fencing: I tried all sorts but he held firm and defended well culminating in scaring the life out of me on the penultimate corner of the last lap  :o but no contact!

For the 2nd round in a row I lost a shed load of good points  :'( finished in 12th I think.

Bit of a dissappointing race. I felt like such an idiot after the start. Had my wheel turned 180 without me noticing it before, so instead of the first gear I went straight into reverse when the lights went out.  :oops:

After that I was struggling to get into my rythm. Had a few nice battles along the way but everytime I started catching the guys in front I made a mistake, spun out and had to do the whole thing over again. It wasn't until the last few laps I felt like I had my mojo back  8)

And sorry for that huuge failed "a-la Rosberg" dive bomb in T2 on the last lap.  :angel:
Thought I braked right before the 100 meter sign but right away I knew I wasn't going to make it without hitting Sam, so I just backed off the brakes abit and let it fly by trying to evade you 2. It looked really stupid in the replay though  ::)

Oh well, I'll just call this "having abit off an off day"  8)

Omg a win! All on my own again pretty much the whole race. Just a matter of keeping it on thei island and no silly mistakes. Think the fast guys will be back on the ball next week and I'll be seeing them disappear up the road as usual.

Well what a race, sooooo much fun. Qualified a dismal 12th and had a massive mountain to climb. Made an awesome start and flew past the line of cars on the left who looked like they were in reverse (oh, some of you actually were hehehe) and headed up to turn 1 with Chris on my left. A little bit of contact but came out ahead and no harm done.

On the run up to T2, I got caught out by FMG who seemed to brake very early in the middle of the track. I couldn't go left as it was fairly congested so it was either run into the back of him or take the inside line which I did. Sadly, this tight line would of probably resulted in contact with the cars on the left turning right into turn 2. So I attempted to brake and then saw a gap between two cars who had started to turn right so I floored it and shot though to come out the other side on the outside of the turn. It just worked apart from just clipping the nose of someone but no major damage and no accidents phew :)

So I rejoined a few cars down and Mark J made a move on me on the run up to turn 3. However, there was so much space on the left so I thought, let's be really cheeky and see if I can drive around him on the outside. Pretty much worked and got him into turn 4. So wish I had a sticker on the back of my Porsche saying my other car is a Lotus hehehe Made some great passes after that on Chris, Eck and Stefan. After that, it was a case of chasing FMG and Les and driving out of my skin to keep Eck behind who was on fire tonight. Ended up finishing a poor 9th.

Ah Alexey, it was you who I shot in front of at turn 2. Sorry about that, must of been a fright lol

Is there any chance you could do a video like yours for the first 2 or 3 laps from in my car? I had an interesting first 2 or 3 laps with some nice passes. Would love to show a friend at work who want to know what it's all about that we do.

Mehh, screwed up my race(again)

Started from P1, which was still good, but already lost one place in turn 1 and another three positions in turn 2.
Fought my way back to P2, chasing down Thomas 3 seconds in front of me, when my stupidity struck again and I spun in turn 1 :cursing: Fell behind Luca to P3 and stayed there for the rest of the race.
Even more annoying as this race was a good opportunity to make up some points to the championship frontrunner(s).

Well done Thomas on your maiden victory here, especially in this tough close class  :thumbup1:

Congrats also to Sam for 5th in his first race here, hope you enjoyed it  :)

Prior to the race had about an hour to practise and adjust my car, struggling with the weight distribution at the moment but will learn with  a few more races.

The start of the race was very clean at the front of the grid with no contact into the first corner which was nice. Had a nice few corners racing with Luca before he drive off into the distance with the other podium finishers.

The end of the race was also very close, Denis managed to catch up and with much better pace kept the pressure on. We traded places a few times however a clean exit of the first corner on the final lap, I felt confident I could hold him off. Another car was going for a pass on Denis and braked slightly too late, he would have pulled it off had I been further ahead but unfortunately he had to miss the corner to avoid a collision. I saw it coming in the mirror and took a very deep entry into the corner but this compromised my exit a lot and allowed Denis to catch up and pass me for 4th.

Really clean and respectful racing here for the most part, only thing I wasn't too happy about was nfsw's aggressive moves in the first few laps. He tried on two occasions to divebomb up the inside of T2. The first time was fair, I naively left the door open for him therefore I left him room on the inside but managed to hold the position. The next lap I positioned my car further over to cover him off, he was more than a car length behind so it was very opportunistic on his part and inevitably ended up with him running into the back of me. Putting the defending driver in a position where they either have to concede the place and avoid you or crash isn't very fair.

Overall however it was a very positive experience, thanks for the race and I hope next week's is just as good!  :)

IMHO it will be good idea to have winner's race replay as a law  ;) I was disconnected so my replay will be bad for you mate )
BTW each of pilots have yours replays anyway ( file named "cr" ) in replay folder ( if not overwrited by the next sim session)

i surely had a blast! what a race again, man i love these machines.

qualified in P6 and tried to get a good start like in the past two races, where i managed to take a few spots right away..
didnt happen, in fact Maikel in front parked his car right on the grid (now we all know why as well :D ) and i had to avoid him, going off track and scratching my nose a bit.
I lost a couple of spots as i had to take a wide exit out of T3 just in case. So i got in P9 for the first laps and then started to muscle up my way all the way up.
I was quite surprised of my consistency (not really something i can claim to be my signature skill) but pulled off some nice battles with the guys in front.

Then after lap 10 or so, the race had settled and i started to focus on Sam in front, but only gained on him ever so slightly. Finally caught him and swapped positions a few times. Then Maikel divebombed him big time in to T2 in the last lap, allowing me to get past evading Sam and had a good laugh in the end :D

Looking forward to the next race ... Best series ever and im glad you extended the series with VIR and Bathurst <3 both ridiculously demanding but fun circuits.

i do it sometimes when i get a run on people so i kinda let them know i will set up an overtake so they better pick their line. sometimes i wanna give credits for nice defending or some other things :D
it depends on the situation i guess. but mainly to get into your head ;)

ps: if people are not okay with that (even flashlights are used for that purpose irl as well) i will stop that as i dont want anyone pick it up as unsportsmanlike behavior

Sorry for that, but you were clearly changing lines under braking, which is not a nice way to defend a position. When we both entered the braking zone you stayed on the left side and then moved into my way while braking. Nothing I could really do there because when I decided to brake later than you there was still enough room for me on the right side. Choose your line before the braking zone and everything is ok.

For me it works the other way. When I see somebody blinking their headlights behind me, I know I am getting to them. They are getting impatient, which only makes me happy. And if you wanna get past with mind games, I'm gonna make my defending a whole lot tougher and you won't get through  :P.

I flash my lights when I'm behind someone just to try and put them off a la touring cars style :) Its like I have my angry eyes on hehehehe

Nice replay from 'divebomber Linus' cockpit  ;D  you did court disaster with a couple of those moves so beware you risk a penalty if one of them results in serious contact  :hammer: dodged a bullet this time  ;)

Can we have a nice short vid from an external camera capturing the early action? I can use that for promotion over at Kunos  :) as we appear to have a few regular no-shows in last couple of rounds. Might want to edit out Maikels fluff start though  :laugh:

This race did not go well for me and frankly it was all my fault. Apologies to Apex for the massive punt up the rear, just a little later on the brakes than you. @Mark, I looked at the replay because I wasn't sure of the incident you were referring to, now reminded I can remember knowing that you were there and trying to give you space which looking at the replay I thought I did, see what you think?? If the stewards inquiry goes against me, then I will expect an appropriate penalty which will put from last place into last place ::)

Tried my damnest to catch Apex in the last 1/2 dozen laps to no avail but put in an unexpected PB on the last lap. I won't be able to make the next race (hurrah I hear you all shout lol) so see you all in 2 weeks time.

You do all realise that the headlights are pretty useless, its not like you have the glare from real lights, if you don't look at your mirrors then you don't see it!

Interesting first few corners and hoped for a half-decent race but got hit on the first lap and ended up in the gravel and last. But I never felt comfortable round here, was very hesitant into the second corner especially, partly as I never got the corner right  but also that the car would never downchange when I wanted it to so frequently missed the apex on many corners. This happened more and more through the race which annoyed me so much I gave up as I was near the back anyway. Over -rev protection I could understand but I let it drop first anyway before trying, and the rev range was down in the bottom half so wouldn't have got near the limiter if it would have changed. Checked the wheel srtup in game and everything looks fine, its something to do with the car!

interesting following Apex and Chris as they fought! And nice to follow MJ as it helped work out how I should be driving it. Car just felt very unpredictable at times starting to wonder if I should carry on with it.

Incidentally, I've noticed that the crash physics has altered for the worse. I had the slightest of touches with Spanner, I didn't even feel it but he catapulted into the gravel trap as though he'd been hit by an Artick. I had a similar experience in a recent Core race, what should have been an exchange of paint turned out to be a major crash. It's like any impact is multiplied by 10, but only occasionally.

Hi guys! Finally solved the issue with my account and I can now log in to the website!

I just wanted to stop by and say it was a great race, like Zandvoort was. The drivers in this community are all very clean and respectful (maybe besides some minor slips, but that happens!) and it's a pleasure driving here.

I only had a minor bump with nsfw at Schlossgold, we were side by side, I was on the inside but I came a little too hot on the brakes, with massive understeer resulting in his car hitting my front and almost making me spin out. My bad, sorry about that. Luckily I could hold it and he didn't seem to be affected by that small incident so I guess it's alright.

PS: if you want to add my nationality to the standings/results, I'm Italian!

Sorry, I had been following very close behind Maikel I think so positioned to his right and braked early as I didn't want to run into him or anyone else.

My lack of preparation showed as it took me most of the race to really gel with the car and get some fast laps in.  I had an absolute blast despite this  ;D

Same here Fmg, I'm still shaking my head today at the series of disasters that befell me and cost me valuable points but must say I had some excellent racing along the way  8) it's a great racing series  :)

No worries mate, just really caught me out and I didn't want to wipe you out so took avoiding action. I still had great fun chasing you and then being hunted down by you and passed.

I would like to see this series run again as well as its crested great racingcso far. I would also love to see this series with a few more car options *cough* Lotus *cough*  ;D No idea what other cars are competivery with the 911 Cup car with would good to have a mixed class.
