All members welcome. Grid/server capacity: 28 Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Race: 20:40 (26 laps) Track: Bridgehampton Download thisCars allowed: Shelby Cobra Pack Download this, Shelby Cobra 289/427. Car restrictions: Rank 1 to 11 - 240kW or 261kW spec Cobra's New drivers and Rank 12 to 22 - any of the above plus 320kW or 354kW spec Cobra's This race will use the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0. Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Server: simracing.org.uk SCC Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. (4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings pageSpecial Notes: None

Maybe I have to cancel this one too because I don't know yet whether my "quasi stepdaughter" will organize a last-minute birthday party tonight. But - if not - are there any setups for Bridgehampton (Fia-Cobra) out there, because - as usual - I'm not able to handle this beast on this bumpy track and could not look for online setups yesterday as the server wasn't online. Many thanks in advance and hopefully see you tonight.

That was so much fun it should have been illegal.
Laps 1-4
Not much I can say really. I kinda forgot to put fuel in and only had the 4 laps from Quali, so I pitted and got lapped just after I think.
Laps 5-8
After I got fuel I had a couple of good laps but the forgot to break for a corner and hit the tyres and damaged the suspension. Another pit stop required for that and lost a further 100 seconds or so.
Laps 9 onwards.
I started to settle in and only made a couple of minor mistakes which only cost me a couple of seconds each (not that it mattered by this time anyway) Around about lap 15ish I went off on a left hander and nearly ended up cutting out half the track but made it back on. A couple of people retired and I managed to finish 5Th overall (last one to finish)
Overall I am very happy with the race. I just have to remember to put fuel in for next time :-)
I will see you for the next race I can make.

Glad that experience hasn't put you off. There tough cars and that's an unforgiving circuit.
Try to make next Monday night's GTC event. It's usually quite popular and has enjoyed a good gridfull of drivers of all skill levels.

Thank you very much Tony for offering your setup to me, which made the car driveable. I was very pleased about the times I could reach during quali and was optimistic and keen for the race. But in lap 2 I crashed into a barrier which destroyed the left front tyre and had to go slow back to the pits. Fortunately car could be repaired and I had some funny but lonely laps. After lap 12 handling and concentration worsened considerably and I decided to quit because I ran more off the track than on the track Hope to see you tonight with the LM55 cars at Silverstone.

No probs Kurt. I don't really like offering my setups as I think there probably setup for me and anyone else may find them worse rather than better. So pleased and suprised that you found my Cobra setup OK. Strangely I couldn't get the car to work for me last night and consequently my performance suffered. That's a tough track IMO but I was pleased to have finished albeit two laps down

Hope to see you tonight with the LM55 cars at Silverstone.
I've been looking forward to this. A chance to have these beasts on the grid at the same time. Should be a great visual and aural spectacle. If any driver fancies a real challenge you should try out one of these monsters. Loads of power, bisquit tin brakes and cross-ply tyres, what could possibly go wrong?

That's a tough track IMO but I was pleased to have finished albeit two laps down If I remember right, you drove the "ordinary" 289 - I had the 289 FIA-version which seems to be less problematic. Maybe that's a possible explanation for your probs.
