Yes, that's the chicane one. There is another config without the right / left combo after T1 (the track just goes straight on to the long left hander).

1.33.9 with the RSR on the server just now. I get the feeling that 32s are possible too. There is just so much to play with in the 911  Smiley

Spent an hour on the server with Madd trying to tame the GT40. Sorry, but this car is such a pile of poo, especialy at mid ohio. The gears are wrong, the car either understeers or oversteers but nothing in between, the brakes are useless...I could go on , but a lap is more about survival than racing! Madd's driving style is much more suited to it than me, and he had a 38.5. My best was 0.2 shy of that but I did more laps. It isn't in the same league as the RSR at MO, espcially when the RSR is such a dream to drive - so adjustable. Not tried the 906 yet though.

Got the Monster (GT-40) to a 1.38.03, Personally I quite like it, but then people do say I'm strange!  Tongue

Paul is right about the biscuit tin brakes though, how they had the balls to drive them irl...... Shocked

Did a handful of laps in the 906. Best was a 1.37.1, although I expect that practice would bring it down a bit. It will beat the GT40 hands down. Can't see it getting close to the RSR though.

Just got to 1.34.5 in the RSR, hard work, but fun (not usually a 911 driver), in the 906 I managed an initial wip setup time of 1.35.4, lots of room for improvement, so a similar time ( im my hands at least) with the RSR is possible, I agree with Paul, the GT-40 is just left for dust by over 3 seconds a lap.

When I tested the GT40 I came up with similar results but, as its such a pig to drive, I just wanted to check. I found it more of a match for the IROC911 and 914 but only at a twisty track. Unfortunately there isn't much of a choice amongst the bigger beasts but I'm hoping a RSR/906 and IROC/914/GT40 (next up) match up would provide some fun  Smiley

Agreed, the RSR is very good Smiley

I think I have the answer to the GT40 problem - use the mk 1 Gulf car. It is completely different, better in almost every way. After a 2 laps I was in the 35s and I'm sure that would come down (possibly by quite a bit, so it might actually be the fastest). I did try the standard mk 1 but that was pants like the mk II.

Thx for changing it Ian, but your race announcement doesn't mention the gulf car. There are 3 'cars' in the mod - mk I, mk I Gulf and Mk II. Can you explicitely say mk I Gulf in the announcement?  he only one that is remotely in with a chance is the mk I Gulf - you would have to be a complete masochist to try the others (sorry Madd  Wink)

Could you also change the server to allow the Gulf car?

Nice times gents,  Cool  and good find on the other GT40's pace  Smiley

I really enjoyed driving the Mk2 around here also, despite it being hard work, just a shame it cant match the other 2 cars for this track.

I agree with Ginsters on the car combos, that matches my own findings on relative pace at a variety of tracks.  Smiley  The IROCS do not have the same big range of setup options, which slows them down somewhat. The spring choice variations alone on the WB RSR are mind boggling  Tongue

Not had a chance for any more testing this weekend  :'(

Added to server Paul and good to see there is an option to add the Gulf version only. However, it would be good to see just how all the GT40's compare in the race so I will leave it an open choice amongst the GT40's for these two races anyways. I'll mention the Gulf is the fast one (we think) and make Madd drive the other MK I as you say Paul Wink

Did some laps on the server, down to 1.33.7 in the gulf car. Things get a bit more tricky as soon as the tyres are not new (lap 3!) but I could still do mid 34s.

Also tried the standard mk I, and at least I enjoyed it more than the mk II! It was dog slow though - I was on to break the 1.40 barrier until I went wide at the last corner and lost momentum, but the has major problems with front end lift - make sure you turn in nice and early for the kink on the straight or you get a facefull of barrier!
