that means you can see the systems OK over the internet Try to follow the steps as I noted below, and see if you can join Server is about to restart, so wait a couple of minutes start GTL as normal. select "Multiplayer" select "LAN or DIrect IP" at the bottom of the next screen it has an option to "Add IP Address" enter 81.19.209.165 it asks for a username enter "paulo" it asks for a password, enter "paulo" it will then search for games and eventually come up with our server, select the server in the list (of one) and give it our normal password
If it still doesn't work, maybe turn off Windows Firewall, and reboot your machine.? (desperation sets in here)

Well that was stonking good fun on a top track. I think the 2x tyre wear worked really well here tonight (not sure it worked so well last time ). Everyone seemed split tonight between one or two stop strategies, which spiced it up a bit differently for a change. How would it all work out in the end.... Well I've no idea because my engine caught fire along the back straight. Gutted. :'( :'( :'( Well done to the finishers.

Well I am at a loss Paulo. Direct IP should "just work" What exactly happens? at what point does it fail?
Race started well, was having a scrap with Phil and Oily, then I did my 1st of a few falling offs at the 1st chicane nasty thing that, don;t like it, it's like that silly 1st chicane at Monza. Got caught out with the tyre wear thing I really don't like it, I like the idea that it forces people to change tyres, but you spend wayyy too many laps struggling with an ill handlin car, unless you have the time to practice lots and lots to get a setup to suit. Which I don't. anyway, was a good one, caught and passed Oily near the end and then had an ice dancing competition with him to the flag.

Enjoyed that. Went for a long one stop in the Daytona which worked out ok apart from having to manage my tyres for a few laps before pitting. I didn't want to risk running out of fuel like in recent outings, so I overfilled which cost me far too much time. Had a big off up the grass banking at about lap 30 and landed on my roof. Car never felt quite right after that, but fortunately it was still quick enough in a straight line to keep Dave at bay in the Healey. Mixed night for team KC. Great win for Ade Bad luck to Bill who was punted off track early on and fell back after a good start. Hope the driver concerned puts in a report.

I'm wondering, Paulo, if your LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT is actually named LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT.txt on your PC, and you don't realise it because of Windows' stupid "don't show file extensions by default" policy. Hmm.
Hopefully this new community lobby will solve everyone's problems.

Very tough race that; The Os'ring isn't a very good place for the Healey, not so much because of it's lack of ultimate top speed, but because all those boring long straights prevent any front tyre temperature to be maintained. A big "thank you" to Tibs who lost it in front of me in the first chicane and in a display of selflessness hit Escape before I ran into him. A real shame that because it was one of the few interesting battles I was likely to have. Very frustrating but interesting stuff for the first few laps as the slower end of the heavy metal powered away down the straights and then found itself under attack from my much more nimble Healey in all the corners. It was truly bizarre to have cars race past me on the main straight, pull out a 50-100m advantage going into the first chicane, and to still be holding me up by halfway through it. After Tibs left I didn't really have anyone to fight with, and it was a long and tedious drag to half distance. The last 3 or 4 laps very very hard work with the rears shot and the fronts cold, and my stop was almost a disaster when it tried to rotate going into the pitlane, and I slewed into the crowd, killing dozens of cardboard people before finally getting it back until control without hitting anything solid. The second half of the race was even more dull and I only stuck it out because a top 10 finished looked certain. Alex was showing as DNF in XD but 11th on the track and at the end of the race I wasn't 100% certain that he wasn't trying to catch me for position, so I kept pushing and ran off a few times, luckily not hitting anything. TBH that race was too long for me on a week night.

Much too long, over 95 minutes, but no matter how much I generally avoid Enduros, I just HAD to have a go at Osterreichring, driven here before but never raced, but probably my favourite track of all, tied with Brands GP. Even if I was completely losing it by the end I still enjoyed every single lap there, even the ones I messed up. Awesome track. And first race I've finished at a competitive pace for ages. Had a real problem getting in with the local_lobby_whatsit.txt, took several minutes earlier in the evening, mine sticks at the server password screen, but I did get in and do my 2 laps of pre-race practice! But come race time it took 20 minutes of clicking and pressing return to get the password accepted - I was just about to give up and go fire up IL2 when suddenly I got in, 5 mins after I thought the race had started, but with only a couple of minutes of qually left. Missing qually said bye bye to my only opportunity to get refamiliar with the track. So first half of the race was spent slowly nibbling down the times from 2:09 to 2:06s. I think that helped make the time go quicker, just learning the corners better, since for much of it I was on my own although I had a few brief fights with Matt, James and Smiler. If I'd started up to speed I could have dragged that overweight Vette round reasonably competitively. After fearing that I'd wasted money on a G25 just as I was losing the desire to race, perhaps not, and the G25 does seem to offer finer control than the DFP. Shame I still can't locate the right buttons in the race, sticking it in neutral once at top speed and running off a few times searching for the headlights and LCD mode buttons. Grats to the podium and I think to everyone who managed to last such a long race.

I was very disappointed to have missed this race but an old RAF mate and his wife turned unexpectedly in the late afternoon and stayed until 8. Hope you all had a good time at Zeltweg. The track always reminds me of travelling along the A5 through the mountains in North Wales on our way to Holyhead. Will download the replay and enjoy watching it later on. Grats to the podium.
