change the following lines (as below) in the .plr file that the dedicated server uses (depending on how your server is set up it might be the player called "PlayerNotUsed")...

Closed MP Qualify Sessions="0" // if true, the session will be closed during
qualify, so as to not disturb the participants
Skip Formation Lap="1"
MULTI Formation Lap="0"
Extra Stats="1" // Saves separate verbose stats for any session (instead of
simple stats for most recent race only)
Timescale Ded Sessions="0" // Dedicated server sessions get timescaled with
race length
Lightning Probability="0.00000" // Probability of seeing lightning (0.0-1.5)
Thunder Probability="0.00000" // Probability of hearing thunder (0.0-1.5)

I've seen it suggested that you should also set the following, or you risk a full yellow being thrown because of stationary grid, but I've seen no evidence for this.
MULTI Full Course Yellows="0"

Also look at Aagramn's post below.

Note that you don't need any of this unless you're hosting a game.

To finish first, first you must have fins.

It's only required if you are hosting a server, not needed to join a race.

My first post here, so a big HI to everybody.

Concerning .plr I changed it to admit me to qualification sessions, but sometimes is does and sometimes it doesn't. I had no problem in 1.3 version, this is a 1.4 version issue. I asked in other forums but didn't get a satisfactory (solution) answer. Otherwise a game runs more or less smooth, except at the start... (carnage).

It's only for the server, not for clients. It makes no difference how your client is setup. You will find some servers you try and join will have the qualifiying session locked and some not.

Some info on how to get the dedi server to process the .plr file.

Quote
Add +[name.PLR] on your shortcut

And you made any change you want in the PLR named.

For exemple.
1- I launch GTR in game mod.
2- I created a new player, in my case ADT_Host
3- I quit GTR.
4- Go in F:\GTR\UserData\ADT_Host\ directory. You'll find an ADT_Host.plr.
5- Open ADT_Host.plr with notepad, and do your change. Save and exit.
6- Go on you desktop. Right click on GTR dedicated server icon. Select Propriety.
7- Gon on the line GTR.exe +dedicated and add +ADT_host (don't put .plr)

So as soon you run the dedicated server, it will launch with options you select in the AD_Host.plr

Edit - Looking at the Simbin forums it looks like this doesn't work for the new dedi-server.
