Honestly gutted for you aagramn. When you slowed, knowing reason, I felt guilty passing you. Also sorry to woodee for silly mistake in quali.
I'm glad you did go past - if you hadn't there would have been a big train behind me before long! Think I might have fixed my pedals, after following the instructions here: http://web.axelero.hu/mozso/momo_e5.htmlWrapped a couple bit of insulation tape around the pedal shaft and it isn't rocking around now. Just did a few laps without any problems and managed a new Lister PB, fingers crossed this is a long term solution.

Had one hairy moment when I came across a car parked in the middle of a turn, infact he was there for two laps, dont know if it was a ghost or what, cant believe someone would sit there for two laps, still had to take avoiding action mind. On the first encounter Loctus went off behind me, I figured he saw it late and spun, however this may have caused his 1fps ?
Nah it was me who hit the car in the middle of the road whilst following you. I was so annoyed after that that I threw caution to the wind, and couldn't keep it on the road....the setup was horrible anyway, but I thought I had a chance there. By the end of the race I was doing high 56's to Greg's 2:00 laps. Still, a well-deserved win, you drove really well out there. Oh well, I still get some points at least. But it's a tough ask to come back from here.

Just a thought Loctus regarding the 1fps. I used to suffer from it a lot, very frustrating, what cured it for me was the replay settings. Try setting all replay settings to medium and 30 secs. Since I tried this I havnt had a single 1fps, thats blown it, bound to get it next time out now :-) Hope this helps.

I've heard there can be a memory leak associated with having the special effects setting on high. When the game clears up the rubber texture for wheel skids it doesn't free the RAM used to draw them back up again. Might explain the sometime slow framerate slide on 1.5 hour races. Stuck mine on medium.

It's in your .plr file. In case you haven't seen my post on this before, I fixed my 1 fps issues since Magny Cours (which is about 7 online races ago - not even had a glimmer of problems since i did all this)... 0) Uninstalled old ATI catalyst drivers and installed non standard ATI graphics drivers. Instead of the Catalysts I've put on the NGO drivers (based on 5.7 catalyst). 1) Reinstalled GTR from scratch with no add-ons at all. 2) Put 1.4 patch on. 3) Created a new player in game with GTR 1.4, copied old Career.blt over the new one and copied over my old car settings and replay files. 4) Everything on highest setting in video settings in game except: a) Other Car Detail - High b) Special Effects - Medium c) Track Draw Distance - Far d) Number of cars draw - 24 e) Level of detail bias - 100% 5) Number of sounds - 16 6) Turned all replay settings OFF. 7) In car chat OFF. Internet connection type ISDN (even though i have 2Mb broadband) It's running at 1280x1024 with 4x AA. To be honest even with the settings (above) down like Special Effects to Medium the graphics don't look any worse to me than before when i had everything on max. Since then I've copied the whole GTR directory to another folder where I install any mods and use the modded version when wanting to run escorts etc but ALWAYS return to the standard for online races etc.

I doubt a memory leak can be the source of 1FPS. as if it were running out of memory the least used bits would be swapped out (which would more than likely be old skids), so it'd jerk for the HDD, but then continue at full FPS. When you exited the game you'd have to wait for windows to clear your swap... Windows is shit at using swap.

The game could be locking certain things in memory though - Windows allows you to mark memory as unswappable.

Whenever I've had the 1 fps bug I've checked task manager with GTR still running and it's only ever using the normal few hundred MBs still loads to spare on my 1GB RAM.

Video RAM though? Dunno. SFX to medium, can't hurt.

I found it my self after testing several solutions. This one works for me since I've made the change It's in your player.plr file, under [Game Options] almost and the end of the section.

so what kind of frame rates are you guys pulling ?
with a field of 24 drivers my pc is doing about 60.
pc 2.6 p4 geforce 6600gt 1,5 gigs of ram. i am thinking of replacing my cpu with a 3ghz and ocerclocking it to 3.2, then the framerates should increase i think.
