I have just downloaded and installed the new physics and car packs. Everything works fine within the game but it seems to have affected GTR2PD. GTR2PD shows itself as running, but there is no data being shown.
Has anyone else found this, or is there an explanation (i.e. it won't work with the new physics pack).

There are no changes in the pack which will have any impact on GTR2PD.

Note that GTR2PD has some problems with cars and tracks with longer names - the balanced versions of some cars have their names deliberately shortened to help avoid such problems.
