Is anyone still driving/racing this?

Ive not been on it for months but after the release of the v8 F1 car I've just set it up again and am finding it really satisfying to drive Cool wub

I've never thought about it untill now but it seems strange how there isnt a league on here with it (or atleast fun races). Shocked

Just a couple of its strongest points are that it:
1. Is the most reliable online Sim I personally have ever used.(No CTD's freezes EVER etc)
2. Is one of the least system demanding sims out there.(the least of all when compared to GTR/GTL/rFactor)
3.Compared to GTR you can have constant close racing battles without being on a knife edge Cool. (I'm not saying you can't have great races in GTR but it is a fine line between success and failure).

I have S2, but don't like it. The driving feel isn't right in any of the cars. Just no interest to play it anymore at all. Even tried the BMW F1 but just no enthusiam for it at all. Multiplayer may be good but it needs to be backed up by better driving than LFS. IMHO.  Smiley

I bought S1 as a bit of a personal protest against SimBin, and it impressed me in some ways, but its like driving on ice. S2 is probably way better tho.

nK is better IMHO.

Yep, LFS is what I play most often - runs well, and IMO, has a very good driving model.

I spend most of my time on the FOX/FO8 though, don't like the Sauber because online races with it at the moment are a lottery tbh

We could have a LFS fun race at some point.

Has anyone any experience of setting up the server, what to install, what settings etc?

I haven't any experience, just had a quick search over @ LFS Forums and found theese links - might be useful (ain't read through them all mind yoi!)

1. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=88294#post88294

2. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=5513

3. http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=2459

3rd one is DediGUI 2, which seems to be an app for configuring the server by way of a GUI...

...having said that, I just checked the link in it and it gives me a "File not found" error.

The readme in the Dedi Server download from LFS.net is fairly detailed aswell mind you.

I have it on my PC too, but haven't played it in ages (just got the sauber patches after reading this).

Would be interested in trying it out online.

Thanks for the links.

Once we've got the new server up and running fully and everything is ok and we've tried all our main games we might come back to this to try it.
