LOL only looked at this event last night. I thought I knew the track from GPL races, although it is similar there are some differences in the distances between bends and angles of the inclines I'm sure.
Tried a couple of cars for about 5 laps each and the quickest was the Shelby at around 1:54- 1:53, with the others at 1:55. Even Chargers need a little love and I got that around in 1:55 too. But, it did seriously abuse the front left tyre, so I'm not sure I could maintain that as race pace and survive!!
None of the laps was perfect, so there might be some more time in banzai lap but these cars eat tyres I have come to realise, so it is a case of pacing yourself for the race.........I am away fro the weekend so unlikely to get much more practice until qually on Monday.
See ? - Already faster than my fastest kamikaze lap, with next to no practice. I'd say you're well on your way to some whoopin'... Would like to know what on Earth you did to get the Charger around in 1:55 - discover a hidden wormhole on track ? - I need the better part of 2 minutes to get that barge around.. Cheers, Erling

I was hoping that you guys would not notice the large hole through the woodland in the centre of the circuit It took me a while to discover how these brutes work, which was probably very obvious from my first couple of races where I was a moving hazard rather than any sort of competition for you guys. I would not claim to fully understand how the setup parameters affect different cars, but at least I now have a clue as to what to do. The biggest factor with these V8's seems to be getting the gearing right and controlling the urge to stand on the throttle and unleash all that torque through the unsuspecting tyres.

I might just make this one. I'm a bit worried about my recent lock up issues so I'll have to bail out if they start re-occurring this evening. Charger seems like a nice drive

What car do you choose and what car do you get? You have done this haven't you? To unlock all of the GTL content without doing the cup challenges you can download this http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=788. Add the downloaded file to your main GTL folder. Start GTL and create a new Profile. Exit GTL then start it again. If it's successful your cars will now be unlocked and you will have loads of cash. Many mod cars rely on donor cars that they are based on. These donor cars are the default ones that need to be unlocked.

Enjoyed that Had tried GTO, Falcon, and GT500, was a couple of tenths quicker in the GTO, though I liked the Falcon better but went with the fastest one, had a carp start got mugged by Clive off the line, and had a great chase for a few laps until I manged to get a tow and get up the inside into T1 then his turn to do the chasing, he had an off so I had a nice gap which stayed more or less constant for a while, then I went off a bit, then he went off and I was 18 secs in front, I, and I assume everyone was struggling with rears going off, and the car wanted to jump over the fences so the last few were heart in mouth stuff. I went wide onto the grass inthe last but 2nd turn, and just missed a tree but got back on the track to run to the flag Good track and car combo.

Grats to Matt and all those who eased these beasts to the end. Interesting that you went through the same car selection process Matt. I too tried a few options and returned to the GTO as one that just felt that bit quicker. Interesting that 90% of the field went with that choice?, glad I did not decide to save it for a later race as it will not be available now I did enjoy that start , and actually wondered what had happened to everyone as I approached T1??!! Although I seem to have found some pace in GTL, I am very aware of the tyre wear gremlin and I guess only more experience will allow me to judge things better. So, although I might have opted to push a fraction harder, to take advantage of that slim lead in those early laps, I was scared of scrubbing off too much rubber and paying the penalty later in the race. I doubt whether I could have stretched much of a lead anyway as we seemed pretty even on pace ( barring mistakes) and it was my small mistake in the Esses that allowed you to gain a small lead. I was slowly closing that down, but it was costing me a lot of tyre wear and when I outbraked myself into the hairpin and ran wide I decided that if I wanted to make it to the flag I would have to drive smart and not drive uber-fast. That was around lap 14 I think and I had already used 60% or more of the tyres. It did not take a mathematical genius to work out that the last laps could be interesting. My only hope of a win was if Matt was worse off than me after our battle in the early laps. TBH I did not see how he could have maintained that pace and NOT used up valuable rubber!!. The last ten laps were an exercise in gap management back to Erling and extreme concentration on the tyre wear meters. I crossed the line with about 2 pixels of red on the left rear having had to push a little harder than I liked to keep the Coyote at least 4 secs back. Great racing in the early laps and if I had not made the initial mistake to let Matt off the hook it might have got VERY wild towards the end.
