am still having fps troubles with GTR since the sp3 update. I dont understand it,as it was fine for a couple of days after i reinstalled the latest Nvidia drivers. And then today i run the game again and my Fps are halved over what they were Im getting 22-30fps despite having a blinking 9800gtx card and reasonably high spec pc. IR is running fine at class 1 with 60fps using v-sync !. I've tried running GTR2 at different graphic levels but its still kippered. Any ideas guys ?

Mark I loaded XP3 on my system the other day and it didn't change a thing, everything is working fine. If your issues are random then something must be triggering this, I know you have a number of GTR2 copies on your syetem, are they all the same ie loosing frame rates, if so you must have someting running in the backround, if not and they behave differently then it must be that particular copy of GTR2. Just some food for thought.

Just did a few TT laps in the UKGTR 550. Heh, was a good 1,5secs slower then last time at Estoril when I practiced in a standard 575 (diff league). It's a fun track, but I have no idea how I will keep tire temps down. I'm guessing when they get worn to 10-12, I'll start sliding and the rears will cook, probably sending me off Fun track though, perhaps with the exception of that very slow left-uphill right section, still can't get any consistency there. Not even sure how I'm supposed to drive it.

tried my other modded versions of GTR and they are suffering the same. Dont know why its just GTR that is suffering in halved Fps ive ran defrags, reg cleaners, the lot but nothings making a difference. Its got to be something just affecting GTRs graphics but cant think what it is.

Maybe try resetting all the graphics options, like the GTR2 setup util, any game profiles in the nvidia control panel. Maybe you've left a setting on? too much AA or AF? If its just GTR2 then it has to be something GTR2 related.
I'll be running around in GT2 tonight, in the Porker seeing how well i can drive it. Best so far is 1.41.7 on softs and starting on half tanks.

I'll be here tonight I think! I had a relativley strong showing here in the sprint, a bit more setup work should see some more pace - and I'll hopefully manage to run my strategy as I want to and not have to change it to a less than optimal one a la Imola! * kidzer looks forward to the race

Maybe it's worth Backing up your user folder and reinstalling GTR2 again or maybe to a different location(drive)?

Total waste of time, no setup and what I cobbled together resulted, in for a numpty like me, an undriveable car. No matter how commendable it might be to finish the race I really couldn't take that pain for another hour. Sorry all.

My PC had a complete black screen freeze with about 30 minutes left. Hope my car didn't cause any problems to anyone. I wish if PCs were going to crash like that that they'd do it right at the start.
