Note to everyone: Even if there would be very few drivers, this race will be run. Smiley Of course I hope grid of around 10 cars, but if that does not happen, The race will still go on like planned.

I have backup plan about making the challenge bigger for myself, if driver count is really small. If there is very few racers, I am going to try reach the 500km landmark with the Giannini 500TV.  Smiley According to my calculations, it should be doable, though it won't be easy. 18 laps is needed to break the 500km barrier. However as the going on laps are counted when the 4hours and 18 minutes is reached, 17 laps needs to be conquered in 4 hours and 17 minutes, so that you get the 18th lap started before lead car crosses the finish line.  17 laps in 257 minutes, means lap time average staying below 15 minutes and 7 seconds and that includes pitstops, etc.In average speed, that means 113 kph.

But we will see which car I am in starting grid. Smiley

Yeah, only problem is that pre sign in is not mandatory, so we do not know exact racer count until the race starts and  for that, it is bit too late change the class.

We can take a look of the situation 15 minutes before the race starts and if there's very few racers, then make the decision going on with Division 2. or something.

After giving a thought to this, I have decided the following:
unless there's 4 or more drivers signed to Division 3 six hours before the race start, event will change to Division 2 event and only one set of points will be given. 

And same rule with smaller division cars still apply: you can join with slower division car, but you are running for the same points as the other guys in division 2.

Funny in the downhill sections but slow in the hillclimb sections.

But these kind of cars in fact raced at the Nordschleife at the 500km races during the 60s,
in the 24hrs events 1970, 71 & 72 and - as far as I know - also in the opening stages of the
Langstreckenpokal 1971:

Also guys be careful with engine wear. With Escort TC it burns around 3-4 percent per lap.

Hi,
Signed you to division 3. As there's now rule that at least 3 drivers is needed pre-signed to division 3 to make it happen, you might want to look backup plan with division 2 car.


Note to everyone Deadline for registering is 6 hours away to make the division 3 happen. Smiley

Hi guys.

Ok, I think I can be there. No time for practicing the new part of the track but... Well, its 4 hours...
In a pair of hours I think I'll have few minutes to decide wich car.
(If there are other guys with escort I probably will take it too)

I'll tell other guys too, probably more people will come.
