Title: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Joe Shaw Memorial 2018 - Sempione - Mar 27 Post by: EvilClive on March 24, 2018, 08:51:52 AM +0000 Season 32 JSMT Trophy – Practice race - Parco Sempione
Welcome to the 2nd round practice for the JSMT2018 at Parco Sempione. Parco Sempione ("Simplon Park") is a large city park in Milan. The park was established in 1888 but the circuit dates from 1937 when the likes of Nuvolari, Rudolf Caracciola and Bernd Rosemeyer drove outrageous cars like the Mercedes-Benz W125 and Auto Union Type C. A very tight track characteristic of the early days of motor sport, public roads and virtually no concept of safety precautions.
For this practice race in the 65's, Pro drivers cannot use the Ferrari, Brabham BT11 or Lotus. Ams have free choice. If there are disco or freeze problems i will change the circuit for Sunday race Title: Re: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Joe Shaw Memorial 2018 - Sempione - Mar 27 Post by: DLogan on March 27, 2018, 10:19:28 PM +0100 No track/server/connection problems at all, aside from Andreas blinking once or twice in the laps coming up to where I lapped him (no more/less than normal).
Surprised at my dominance in qual, then looked and yeah Rob wasn't here. :P Race plan was hope for a clean start, then disappear 8). Cookie stuck with me for longer than I was expecting, even with Doni apparently hounding him. Then Doni and he disconnected (separately I think), leaving a dozen seconds back to Clive, who was showing a lot more pace than in qual. Trying to build on that gap to prevent him closing for a late charge, I half-spun in T1 losing 2 seconds, got that back but lost it working past Andreas, then trying to build it back up (even though I think Clive spun just then, adding ~10 seconds to my lead), locked up going into T3 and stuffed it heavily into those sticky haybales. Hit Esc instead of shift-r, so grats to whoever hung on. If we use this track on Sunday, I propose that the Ams do not take a S&G after a shift-r. The pitlane here is just too punishing, and it will add to the amount of lapped traffic (that my crystal ball says may be an issue here ;) ). edit after watching replay: Doni blinks once per lap or so and vanishes from my replay for several seconds on lap 3 before lap 6 terminal, everyone else was relatively solid Title: Re: UKGPL Season 32 (2017-18) Joe Shaw Memorial 2018 - Sempione - Mar 27 Post by: Cookie on March 27, 2018, 11:27:37 PM +0100 Sorry the result seems to be connected to the other race post :o , maybe Phil can fix this ::)

Touch & go if I can make Sunday but do let us know if there is a change of venue. Had 2 shiftr´s with stop&go in that "grassy" pitlane. So the leaders came on my tail to lap me. Then everyone vanished from the race? But kept it going for a good training and last man standing. :punk:
