Race: 20:40 (12 laps) Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit stops required: No Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesdays Password: see above (#post_event_password) Notes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: None. Improved my best by 3s in qually to just pip Manfred for pole, but did not make the best of starts & dropped to 3rd. Passed Dan with the Porsche's better gearing down the back straight but Manfred was already 2s ahead & I was not able to run at his pace in the race. Kept the gap respectable until I got a little out of shape braking for Schatten & slid into the straw bales, (odd straw bales as the car stuck to them rather than bouncing off them) lost about 10s & any slim chance of catching Manfred. Still very happy with 2nd. :) Congrats to Manfred on the win & Micha in 3rd.  Title: Re: UKGTL Season 20 1965 D.A.R.M. - Solitude - Jun 24 Post by: Paddler on June 25, 2020, 03:37:35 PM +0100 Thanks for the nice race :)
I was very lucky and almost jump-started. best regards Manfred Title: Re: UKGTL Season 20 1965 D.A.R.M. - Solitude - Jun 24 Post by: SpecialKS on June 25, 2020, 07:30:50 PM +0100 Result (https://www.avonrise.co.uk/srou/kurts/_2020/24062020_Solitude_64)

Now that's what I call determination to bring your car home. A perfect example for all early quitters. Well done Tony and a well deserved 7th pos.

I must admit that my choice was purely tactical as it leaves me with Porsche drives for all of the remaining upcoming fixtures. |
