I'm gonner do a few laps tonight for this race - usual password 'uk*****ac'. I will use v1.4 but it would be great if you guys can make copy of v1.4 and paste to new folder then install v1.5 on it. That way you can do both np!! But I will be on v1.4 tonight, server name is UKGTR plz select ISDN.

Less strain on server, you should be using ISDN for all (GTR) races.

I'd like to, Rich! When? Yea i'll be on about 8pm - got to read some stuff on nascar cambers first. I say ISDN cause on DSL, when i'm hosting 7 sometimes can go laggy but on ISDN it's fine. ISDN is 12 datarate which was high back in the F12002 days so np.

Thanks for hosting, Rich, I enjoyed it. And Jon also made a contribution to the Penguins. (I hope so... )

Np my 1mb connection is rock stable after engineer visited, haven't had disconnection in 68 days according to router. Nice little stint there - you got a run on me Tom and then I locked front tyres straight into tyre wall!! Funny car the 911, if I can master the braking i'll be on to something, fronts tend to stay quite cool. That F360 looks ace, nice low profile. Noticed you lock front inside a bit.. Take me ages making a setup, in fact don't think i've ever finished one - see you tomorrow.. !

Grrr.... very laggy for me so had to leave to be safe, I was worried I'd cause mayhem at the start. Those Eircom barstewards upgraded the line last week and this is what they provide I did a line test after I'm showing upload at 192 and download at 2.2 so on the surface it looks ok but in reality its like having a 56k modem. Pity, was really looking forward to a another good scrap with JonM

Gutted, gutted, gutted. EASILY my best qualifying performance in 4th and I get a "lost connection to host" when it ticked through to the warm-up session and (obviously) couldn't get back in. This is me --> :'( Stupid, stupid game

Man am I miffed! (there's a word I haven't heard in a while)
The local phone company has been upgrading the line here and as a result I was getting pings of 500 and more. (cheers Shark for telling me what it was - would have spoiled the race for someone if you hadn't)
Checked the ole internetfrog and my upload speed is varying between 50 and 150, dowload between 1.7Meg and .7Meg with a QOS of 58%....grrrrrr.......
Hope it all went well tho and go KerbCrawlers!
I'm off to drive a Corvette around the Nordschleife, maybe that'll put a smile on my face!

I was gonna start this post by swearing and cursing and then saying I had no words for it... Which would have been a contradiction... I try to avoid those, unfortunately Simbin doesn't... I don't even wanna see this one on my record tbh So far all races I joined I've scored points * sniff * Pacing myself nicely in 5th, make a mistake (or tire already gone!?), spin off, gently hit tire barrier... Right rear tire has a puncture!? LOL! O K Take it to the pit avoiding other traffic... Speed limiter on... Nice arrow at the end of the straight, bumblebee the Bi-T towards it... Stop under it... NOTHING! ROFL! Just nothing! Sat there for a minute thinking... Ok, I could go round the track again! Hehe, didn't wanna do that to the other drivers though , but seriously including the 3 before me, this is cack! T (Proud to not have cursed in this post) P.S. FFS! Oops... Hihi, I lied... Go tell Simbin...

Not good for me either. Dunno what's happened to GTR cause I never had frame rate issues like this in game. I was getting 10-20fps on the start finish straight it was making me feel motion sick. Same as Spa last week. Tried all sorts of stuff leaving the game and adjusting ini and plr settings to no avail. Offline with a full grid of 24 AI players I was getting 40-50fps on the start finish straight with well over 30fps even on lap 1 where all the cars are bunched up. My system is and always has been more than capable of running GTR. It does something like 118fps offline when practicing alone! After spending the 95% of the Practice and Qual session leaving and joining and fiddling with settings to try and solve my frame rate issues I did 1 qualifying lap in the session with a couple of minutes to go which put me 5th on the grid. Not bad and only actually 0.2 behind my Morgan PB. Saw Edza and Mo with 500ms ping times during qualifing and practice and they very kindly left before the race (cheers guys) and my FPS was better (still not normal) during the race than qualifying (so possibly related). Race was a dull affair to be honest. Watch Truetom and the others piss off into the distance for which my Morgan simply had no response. I'm finding the ultimate lack of straight line speed in the Morgan the biggest killer in comparison to the other cars. With about 11 minutes to go JonM started making mistakes and he appeared a few secs ahead. Ah ha I thought, he's having trouble, although by that time my tyres were going off too and my lap times were dropping off, I was just taking it easy as there was no threat from behind and no way to catch drivers ahead without mistakes. Then with about 10 or 9 minutes to go lack of grip into the braking into the first corner at the end of the long straight (I was gradually having to brake earlier and earlier into the corner anyway as either the brakes were fried or the tyres just wouldn't grip that well under braking anymore) I didn't make the corner and headed off through the gravel into the tyre barrier. The pit bloke said something like "you've damaged your blurgh" but I just couldn't hear what he was saying. Then spent 60 seconds getting out of the gravel as the wheels were spinning but movement was nay to be had. Finally got back onto track about 10th I think and discovered the bloke had probably said something along the lines of "you've damaged the entire front end of your car and it's f**ked". It didn't seem to want to accelerate in a straight line and as I broke for the next corner, well, it didn't do much other than "sorry sir, but you can't expect to brake from 100mph when I told you the front end of your car is f**ked". And that was that. If I get bad FPS again next race I dunno what I'll do, I can't play without smooth frame rate as (a) i get motion sick with low framerates (b) controlling the car is difficult when it's not smooth as it's not getting as many control samples per second.

Really gutted guys. I'd like to say "don't worry! We've got GTL and rFactor to use instead in the future!" But neither of them are any better Couldn't believe it when you dropped out Pops, that was the best NGTL qually probably ever- not just top of the mid pack but right up there with top 3 times. Utter bollocks! There! I've sworn for you Tyf! Had a few probs in qually and got about 10th. Kept is nice and steady throughout the race and, aside from one tap into the big stop at turn 2 and a spin of my own creation, incident free. Enjoyed some great tussles with Greg whose tyres looked as knackered as mine felt. I was watching the tyre temps around thaat last bend each lap and both lefts were soaring through all the friction, barley recovering before the next time I reached that corner. V pleased and surprised to have fluked 4th.
