I was suprised by the small break between the seasons......
We are trying to run future seasons at regular times so that drivers won't get caught out and they can plan their racing well in advance. The provisional dates for the next few seasons are on the UKGPL homepage.

Season 35 – 1967 F1 – Round 2 – Hockenheim
The second race in the 1967 F1 series finds us at Hockenheim in Germany. The track was originally called "Dreieckskurs" (triangle course) and was built in 1932 using roads in the forest as an alternative to the Wildpark-Circuit in Karlsruhe. The track was used for motorcycle racing and was expanded to be used as test track for Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union in 1936. In 1938 the track was drastically shortened to 7.5 kilometres and it was renamed the "Kurpfalzring". This name was used until 1947 when the unchanged layout was renamed again to "Hockenheimring". This version of the circuit, which was used in 1955, consisted of the original two long straights, with the Ostkurve in the forest and the original hairpin inside Hockenheim joining them together. In 1965, when the new Autobahn A 6 separated the village from the main part of the track, an updated version of Hockenheim circuit was built, which incorporated a new "Motodrom" stadium section. Two fast chicanes were added after Jim Clark was killed on 7 April 1968 in a Formula 2 racing accident. A small memorial was placed at the site of his accident near the first chicane. In order to improve safety even further, the track was lined with crash barriers in 1970. But the track was still dangerous and claimed the life of Patrick Depailler in 1980. So in 1982, the first chicane was made slower and a third chicane was added at the Ostkurve (east curve). In the early 2000s, Formula 1 officials demanded the 6.823 km (4.240 mi) track be shortened and threatened to discontinue racing there. So the state government of Baden-Württemberg secured the financing for a redesign by Hermann Tilke ready for the 2002 German Grand Prix. The new "Tilke Track" was not universally popular and many drivers preferred the long circuit. Sadly the old circuit was torn up and replanted with trees thereby preventing any chance of reinstating the long circuit for Formula 1 or indeed using it for historic car races.
Tonight we will be using the 1967 version of the long track that doesn't have the three chicanes.
The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available. Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join. If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left. Please read the championship specific rules on the championship standings page.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet. For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement). The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error. There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified. Had some great fun in qually with Bill, we were fighting like demons over 8th spot!
The race started carefully and I managed to avoid a couple of cars at the Curva Grande (phew), but that dropped me back and I lost the tow on the leading bunch. Undaunted I pressed on and picked up a few places as drivers retired for various reasons. I managed to gradually reel in Ziu and crept past him into third place. We circulated in close company for a few laps until I put a wheel on the kerb on the inside of Curva Grande. Unfortunately I got into a bit of a slide and Ziu couldn't avoid me. In the ensuing melee, I lost a wheel but I think Ziu could continue. Racing incident for me, I need to get used to racing wheel to wheel without making any mistakes.
Thanks to Axel for the server.

Had a decent race with Tim for a while. He had the nimble Alfa whilst I had the big MKIV. Tim was all over me like a rash in the in-field but the speed of the MKIV was enough to get me back in front for a while. I made too many mistakes on the in-field and gradually I lost more ground than I could make up on the straights. Grats to Tris and the rest of the podium.

A CTD is associated with the client, usually the graphics. I don't think a server problem can cause a CTD.
The setup problem may be caused by having different car sets being associated with the same player. I have a different player for each mod (e.g. Thornton66, Thornton65, ThorntonGT etc). That way when I launch GEM I select the driver I want and the Mod is automatically selected and the selected driver appears in IGOR too.
,Do you use the same driver for different mods?

I know Eric had a few problems connecting to the server. Was it only Eric having problems or did anyone else experience difficulties? The server was fine for me but I am only a few metres away from it! Was it OK for the drivers based in Brazil?
