Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1164s

Geoffers misses his braking point and rear ends Tinman hard, sending them both off. Geoffers was trying to overtake Ade, but hit the car infront which was Tinman.
Incident with big consequences, as Tinman's car was damaged in the early stages.

Server replay time: 1389s

I didn't see anything at the reported 1359, but I think the incident mentioned was at 1389.

Matt loses a bit more speed than normal in the Porsche curves. This slower speed surprises Edamspeed and he hits Matt at the rear. Edamspeed couldn't help that as he was very close. Geoffers was also following very close and due to the contact between Edamspeed and Matt, the car of Edamspeed slowed drastically, leaving Geoffers no place to go and he hits Edamspeed at the back.
Nothing all drivers involved could do.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1981s

Matt says he was wobbly in the Porsche curves and Geoffers has more momentum and takes a tighter inside line. When he is on the inside Matt closes the room and the cars rub doors. There was hardly any room and on overtake attempts like that would not be adviced for the future. Due to the door rubbing, Matt's car spins and Geoffers wait.
If this was clearly an overambitious overtake attempt, it would have been given a penalty. It's however unclear what the real problem was here.

Urgh - disaster of a race. First lap out, I brake early for Indianapolis, but start to realise that I'm still catching RuiC on the brakes. Can't slow down enough, so decided to throw it off the road rather than hit Rui. Only problem was that I totally, completely mis-timed it, and clipped Rui into a spin - BIG apologies for that rather stupid mistake on my part. Then I made a few other total noob mistakes on the next few laps trying to be clever.

Got a few places back, but just went off a few times because I'm out of practice (lame excuse #7), totally buggered the car, and couldn't keep it on the road. So I drove carefully and slowly after that to avoid taking anyone else out, and finished a lowly 19th.

That was very very very very and very enjoyable. Thanks for organising this.
I had a great battle with ade for most of the time, swapping places and a little paint. just excellent.
on lap 11 or maybe 10 i went in the kitty litter and decided to have a pitstop.
for some reason my right arrow key switches the headlamps on and fuel was set to 0. great.
changed tyres and went out. had some more fun with spanner(?), went to pits again, still no fuel, out of pits, all or nothing,
...............nothing it is.
still enormous fun.
thx again sbg and everyone else involved.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Check them results? but if that is right then I will be skipping round the office tomorrow!?
How di that happen!?
Did a 4.30 in practice about 3 days ago but have not got near it since!
Qualify with a 4.35 ! but ok in 6th.
Clean start no issues! top 5 dissappeared, rest of field dissappeared!
GTL timetrial after that! Stopped half way for fuel only, ( took a risk on the tyre wear! )
Was struggling after that but was under 4.37 still running in 6th!
Whoever was in 7th at the time was 20 secs behind, then 16, then 10, then I seem to be in 4th? with a couple to go!
Knew it was gonna be close so drove as fast as I possible could!
Had 2 cars in the distance closing fast, ended up braking into the last 2 chicanes with Madd-RIP ! I held the inside line and he had to give!
Finished, saw 2 cars in front of me!? but the results show 2nd!? strange!?
Will delay the skipping until it's confirmed!

Thanks to all those involved, particularly the admins obviously and to all of the rest of you for such a great fun, close, fair, respectful dam good season.
No wonder we all come back for more with the standard of driving and friendly banter etc.

Long may it continue!

Martin

Embarrassed Well I really thought I'd stuffed up royally there, managed a pb in quali but tried to drive safely, which I did, until my in lap when i had a brain fart and threw it into the wall ( cue James May favourite saying).
Pribeiro decided to join me but I had stalled it in the ensuing spin and he hadn't, no problem I thought just pit any way and try to get in front of SBG......brilliant.

Except........my pit crew were having lunch and kept me sitting there waiting......and waiting.....before eventually getting up and working on my car  taz , as I sat there contemplating heinous crimes against my pc I waved as everyone drove past.

Eventually I was released in 7th, and tried my best to catch up, Mark was passed while in the pits and Assassino had a moment so I got passed him (damn that McLaren is quick) I then reeled in Martim but just couldn't get past.

So I thought I'd lost it to SBG/ Pribeiro, only to see SBG in the pits granting me 3rd, I still wasn't sure until the results were posted, woophee  Grin ,but only just. sweatdrop

Congratulations to Pribeiro for an absolutely stunning drive (please stop reeling me in and making me work!) and also commiserations to both you and Ian for just missing out on a very possible championship win .

Also Dan's team RVS are the winners too so a big pat on our back for that one.  Smiley

I too must congratulate the organisers for a truly solid and worthwhile effort in giving us all this opportunity to enjoy GTL like this again, it has been absolutely brilliant, take a bow gentlemen, take a bow.  I Am Not Worthy  clap

I believe the next season will also become a classic battle, bring it on!
