Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1164s

Geoffers misses his braking point and rear ends Tinman hard, sending them both off. Geoffers was trying to overtake Ade, but hit the car infront which was Tinman.
Incident with big consequences, as Tinman's car was damaged in the early stages.

Server replay time: 1389s

I didn't see anything at the reported 1359, but I think the incident mentioned was at 1389.

Matt loses a bit more speed than normal in the Porsche curves. This slower speed surprises Edamspeed and he hits Matt at the rear. Edamspeed couldn't help that as he was very close. Geoffers was also following very close and due to the contact between Edamspeed and Matt, the car of Edamspeed slowed drastically, leaving Geoffers no place to go and he hits Edamspeed at the back.
Nothing all drivers involved could do.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1981s

Matt says he was wobbly in the Porsche curves and Geoffers has more momentum and takes a tighter inside line. When he is on the inside Matt closes the room and the cars rub doors. There was hardly any room and on overtake attempts like that would not be adviced for the future. Due to the door rubbing, Matt's car spins and Geoffers wait.
If this was clearly an overambitious overtake attempt, it would have been given a penalty. It's however unclear what the real problem was here.

sexiest car on track for me last night was that buff coloured Mclaren driven by Geoffers, it looked so 'vintage racer' in that colour scheme steaming down the mulsanne  Cool

worst car was that disgusting nuclear green 906  Hit with a wet fish ..cant you tone that revolting colour down to something a little more 'classic'? ...like a sexy racing green or something  Wink

I was glad to see a bit more variation in the grid last night too, it all looked very cool on track.

Still shaking my head this morning at losing out on a great top 10 or top 5 finish in the little porker with only two laps remaining. Tragedy!
Ferdinand Porsche has dropped me from the works team and made me drink a glass of petrol as penance and a reminder! Tongue

Special thanks to Pseudo and Ginsters and Dave and Picnic for all their hard work behind the scenes to make GTL racing great once again.  thumbup1

My second UKGTL race and first where I needed to pit - not sure what went wrong as I ran out of fuel with a lap and a half to go.  Qualified 12th and was very steady off the line, hangover from racing GPL it looks like the cars can get much closer without the inevitable 50 feet in the air crash occurring in GTL.  Ended up in 19th or so by the Mulsanne straight.  Lapped quite steadily couple of minor offs but otherwise OK really beginning to enjoy the Pantera.  Did my pit stop 2 minutes later are hey ever going to finish... Finally I get away new tyres and my newly found confidence in the car found me down in the 4:35s when hang on where has the power gone followed by silence as I coasted to a halt.

Guess I needed to do more than just hit enter when the pit stop sheet is displayed  whistling

Congratulations to the pole and all finishers was good racing, thanks to the organisers.  Must download Paul Ricard and get some practice in for the next event.

Race of good & bad for me.

The bad, really messed up my qually by going off twice & starting 17th. But worse than that, was about lap 5 I totally missed my braking point for the final chicane whilst battling with several Capris & ploughed into Tinman's car at virtually undiminished speed taking him off into the gravel Angry. Very sorry Tinman, noob mistake.

Also had a collision with Matt Rowe at the Porsche Curves when he ran wide going in & I went inside just as Matt came back across the track, we touched & Matt spun. Not sure whose fault but I waited for Matt to rejoin.

Good parts of the race. The start & the first lap, I went from 17th on the grid to 7th at the end of lap 1. Then undid all the hard work by going off at Tetre Rouge on lap 2. Had good battles with several cars, mainly Capris during the first half of the race, then the second half of the race was virtually a constant dice with Legzy's Capri. We must have swapped places at least half a dozen times every lap Grin. The Capri was quicker in the twisty bits & on top speed, but the McLaren was much quicker on acceleration through the gears. On all the long straights I blasted past the Capri on acceleration only for Legzy to repass when the McLaren ran out of speed. Great stuff.

Not sure why the McLaren was not pulling top gear very well as it was fine in practice, but during the race it wouldn't rev out in top. Maybe that off at the start of lap 2 caused body damage that was affecting the aerodynamics & slowing the top speed.

Once again sorry to Tinman for the daft mistake.

Thanks to Legzy for a most enjoyable last few laps & also to Pseudo & SBG for great organisation.

Congrats to the podium.

Cya next time

According to the export, Mr Oily had invalid laps 13, 16 and 17. Three strikes and thus a stop and go (or time penalty on the final lap). So unless new evidence comes to light I would imagine the results will stand subject to court rulings.

Thanks Admins for a really good season. Not sure I liked all the tracks and car choices but I just miss those out.

Congrats to my team mates for making the Team Oldie cars look great.

Congrats Martin for last night (that'll keep you warm those long winter nights) but dont keep on about it down the pub or you'll get some strange looks.

Any chance of switching over to the Evo GTL next season. Unpredictable weather will open up another long line of excuses and arguments
which are the very life blood of our GTL.

Once again thanks

Congratulations for the championship Madd, well deserved.  thumbup2
Close fight on the top 5 finishers.
Lots of applauses to SBG and Psuedo for the hard work once more.  Kiss (i loved all the track choices)
and to the all field of drivers, which allowed tons of fun and good times.  I Am Not Worthy

TBH, didn´t expect to achieve the 3rd starting place. Start went well and i managed to stay in 3rd
with the front Panteras among Madd, SBG and Dan´s Capri. SBG had a missing braking point
at Indianapolis, after that i kept Madd in sight (i believe Madd was just controling the distance,
without pushing hard the car, great job)  yes and tried for almost 10 laps hold the second
place for Dan, we switch positions a few times tho, very close and fair driving.  thumbup1
Then, at Indianapolis, i was foccusing the brake signals on the right, had a fast look to the mirror,
but didn´t saw Dan  Huh engange the 2nd gear before the left corner and just when i was aiming
the car to the corner, i saw Dan spinning right in the front of my car at a high speed  w00t eek
(Dan, when you can, please see the replay by my car, it´s scaring mate)  lol
Unlucky Dan stayed there for a while and i began to care only about Madd.
Man, how i was having fun.  Smiley
Lap by lap i was shortning the gap to Madd (Pantera´s tires consuming i believe) from a 5 seconds gap,
to a 2,5 seconds. On lap 12 at Porsche curves, Madd ran wide and hit the wall, as i was solidary
with his misfortune, i did exactly the same and we hit each other, sorry mate, couldn´t avoid...
damn grass....lost my front splitter  scared a BMW without front splitter it´s almost worst
than a front wheel drive car.  helpsmilie so untill then i was doing 4.28 to 4.30 for each lap,
from then i began to do more 3-4 seconds. Pitted at the final lap 14, just refuelling i skipped
the tyre change and the repairs, next lap i realized that i had a 1.50 gap for the 2nd car,
so i drove carefully untill the end. last night i could drive there for hours, it really felt good.
I managed to setup the CSL well for my driving style. Lucky setup because i did it only at the
practice session.

Waiting for next season, thanks all.  winkiss

Cheers

Noooooooo! Only saw one cut warning all race!  Shocked

Ah well still a cracking race and a great finish to the best season yet for the green ones. Think Madd summed it up pretty well, right now we're lucky to have all the ingredients for some great Thursday evening racing week in week out....long may it continue and thanks organiser chaps, I'm sure it must be a chore but it's all for a worthy cause  Grin

Grats PR, great drive mate. Seeing your times here last season I thought I'd stick with the beemer to begin with but just couldn't get near you, impressive stuff. Well done Madd/ Martin, bringing Panteras home with everything pointing in the right direction deserves a medal so fair play.

A mixed bag with so much bad luck in the Prodigy camp, an engine blow out in the closing stages and pc probs galore but gotta say well done Tibs, nice finish and ten points for the post race shunt. Great race SBG, was nerve wracking at times but all good mate, loadsa fun and just enough room where needed  Grin

Now for the real fun, an Escort @ Paul Ricard  blink

First a big thanks to all the organisers for this season, the enduros aren't my thing but they're a great selection of tracks and 26 starters really shows what a great success it's been.

Congrats to Matt, really hope the result stands, we don't need stewards decisions deciding championships, eh?  Wink

Main thing I learnt last night was a pit stop takes less time than a, ahem, comfort break.  Cheesy  Came back into the room to discover my Corvette crawling slowly down the outside wall of the pitlane accruing penalties for some reason!  Tongue  I'd left it in first when I left and it just idled down the pitlane, classic.  Grin

Apart from that a mixed race, first half superb, second half the usual too-tired-to-drive series of crashes.

Tried the powerful Vette and found it too understeery, and actually heavy-feeling, so went with the slow one, and just had the most perfect setup imaginable.  So stable, yet sharp turn in with controllable power overtseer on demand to help round those twisty bits, that was one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever driven, I could chuck it sideways into the corners with total confidence.  Cause it was so driveable I was able to keep pace with quicker cars, and had some awesome battles with MJ's Porsche (gutted to see it spin in the mirrors), Legzy and TT's Capris, and one or two others, fighting for 7/8th in a slow old car.  Thanks to all of you for the enjoyable racing.  Smiley

Finally about lap 9 concentration started failing, mindlessly followed TT off wide, first cut warning, exactly the same thing next lap, another warning, then final one with my wanderin' car in the pits so stop n go.  Took that and then the high speed crashes started, pitted for 2 mins of repairs around lap 13/14 then still trashed the car on my final lap, and limped home.

Gonna have to stay away from enduros, too much real life stress and disturbed sleep is not conjusive to concentrating for more than 40-50 minutes.   Sad  Trouble is its like crack cocaine, want my fix no matter the comedown.   Tongue

Thanks Dave. And apologies to Oily again for being all over the place. Bizzare that the champs should be decided by both of us losing out this way but, as I said previously, either Matt or PR are worthy winners Smiley

Had lots of fun driving the mclaren, the sound engine was very nice, i thought the engine could blow up, but it didn´t.

Shame on the first lap incident, i could come closer to the front guys, but after droping almost to last i managed to get 6th place i think.

congrats to all, and keep gtl alive, now that it has so many new cars.

I was reviewing the replay last night and you really did get beaten up!
Bumped from behind, span, had to wait ages for about 10 cars to go through before turning in a large arc to rejoin as someone else hit you!

Nightmare!

Really enjoyed driving the big V8 Corvette and only span it once, on a straight? when I inadvertantly dropped it into 1st gear. Did a neat 360 then continued.
First time I'd ever driven the Corvette so toook it really steady eddy.
Was in 11th when on the penultimate lap I noticed as I approached the Porsche curves was that I was smoking. Tyres were ok and everything seemed fine but the engine gave up so wasn't able to finish. Then I got discoed.

Anyhow great season, loads of fun, the track/car selections were always a challenge and rightly so.

And the Prodigy cars are exactly the right colour thankyou!
