That had more promise than i could give it sadly, but started 10th, finished 11th isnt too bad. I had some interesting scraps with various people interspersed with me going off. let me think, some early scraps with Legzy and Ade but sadly I just got caught out by your braking Legz which caused a few moments. Then TT appeared but then i fell off down the order and then found a group with Edam and SteveH Geoffers and Matt in but then found my self on my own which finally meant i was able to get the times down. Pitted about lap 10, took fuel and tyres and then after a few laps found myself back up around 8th infront of Legzy and surprised to find some the faster guys in the pits as i went by. But a few time i ended up downshifting too much which finally caused me to find the gravel and dropping me back then managed to get a stop-go (or is that stop, wait an age then go) but somehow wasnt passed in the pits and then tried to get to the finish. Never driven the Capri for this kind of race so was a struggle at times and kinda wished i'd taken the 906 again! Surprisingly my PC held up this time so finally managed to finish a race Well done to Oily for again showing he's an Alien-in-waiting and to all Prodigy runners, and bad luck to dynosaur who looked like he was going to be right up there. Congrats to everyone who's made this what it is and to SBG, Psuedo, Dave and Picnic for all their dedication

So to put my and Pribeiro's minds at rest what are the final standings? Do the original results still stand? I may be on a sticky wicket as my car isn't red .

Perhaps (feel free to tell me to shut up for this...) the admins should check the laps oily got the cut warnings on. I know I got one (and a stop/go) when I had 4 wheels on the track at the exit to the final chicane on the main straight.

I was also a victim of some "iffy" cut detection but this section from rules is pretty unambiguous "Under normal circumstances the simulation's internal cut detection will be relied upon to police the cutting of chicanes and other corners." For me, that is the end of it. There are incidents, if any are reported, to consider of course but you can prolly enjoy your victory now Matt Congrats to you and PR for a great end to championship last might. At some point or another in the race all three of us had a chance to win it Boy am I regretting getting the s/g.

Didn't see that bit before. I knew about how you're supposed to put a maximum of two wheels off the track, that's why I mentioned it. Makes sense though.

Cheers Tibs good idea but it's just one of those things you probably have to leave or it'll be a can of worms! I did have a look though and couldn't see anything sketchy. Lap 16 I blatantly understeered across the gravel at turn 1 but I know sometimes if you make a point of lifting it doesn't always give you a warning, and it didn't when it probably should have. Lap 17 looked clean to me and nothing showed in the car but you win some you lose some with those cut warnings!

Thankyou Ian, very gracious of you but also commiserations to losing out to a s/g (my pitstop monkeys cost me a 'true' 3rd ), I too had 2 cut track warnings so it could have been me instead. If I'm able to compete in a GTL championship (enduro or sprint not bothered), I hope its as good as this one has been. I too looked at the replay to put my mind at ease Oily, the only possible place was when Ian went wide at the second Mulsanne chicane and you just rode the rumble strip on the exit a tiny bit, this was where I got mine, its really strict there, almost too strict imo.

Sincere thanks to the Organisers. - The replays being up minutes after the race finish is stunning and the choice of cars and tracks has been inpired at times.
In practice in several cars, I had proved that I was just plain slow here, had no real idea how fast i could take some corners, or exactly where I should brake. Probly should have taken the Capri, but fancied the M1A, although to get it half stable I had it very understeery, so even slower in corners than it was at Snetterton. I managed to get in lots of people's way, but had some fun tussles with Edam/Spanner/Klose/Geoffers and a couple of others. Got punted off twice by people behind being caught out by my slowness "I had no accidents officer, but there were a lot happening behind me" Biggest off I had which REALLY peed me off was one of those annoying "Slowing to pit" "Leaving Pits" messages which grabbed my attention for long enough that I forgot to brake, and stuffed the nose into the fence at the hairpin. It was towards the race end, i had no chance of catching anyone, and had no one close behind, but I really really wish people would not do it, though I appreciate it is for the best of safety intentions, it is seriously off putting to me!

Not as dangerous though as following someone round closely that then...without notice...darts into the pit lane in front of you...generally putting both cars out. It has to be expected and encouraged in enduro's...for safety as you say....unless you are anywhere near pit entry/exit...just ignore it.

The thing with those messages is, you take your eyes off the road to read the message, so instead of being more vigilant, you're actually not paying attention. And all the other drivers not close to the pitlane also suffer from the distraction. I never liked those messages, they don't have that in real life as well . It's up to the guy entering the pit to do it carefully, if he takes somebody out with that, than that's just an incident report coming, like with any other incident.

But surely you would only use the "pit in" message if you wanted to avoid having the guy that was following you closely, hitting you?

I know there are likely to be for and against here. I am very aware that particularly at somewhere like Le Mans where you have to stay on the racing line to pit, it can be useful to warn someone directly behind you that you are going to pit. It's a shame the whole field has to be distracted while you do it. "Ignore it" is not a valid option IMHO Personally I hate the messages. It does say in the regs that pit in message is encouraged, and pit out is discouraged, so there you have it.

Had a fantastic race. Some really good nose to tail, position swapping racing from T1 till the last turn on the final lap. Ade & Spanner early on, always had one of them filling my mirrors or me filling theirs... which was just brilliant . Then a while in the middle before & after my pitting with Steve (god I was nervous knowing I was driving up close with a Legend!)following his exhibition driving in the red Vette. Lovely to watch you drifting the back end round. Then had my most enjoyable 6 or 7 laps in racing so far with Geoffers (reliving/bettering our exchange from Watkins). Racing does not get any better then that. This rookie season for me has been an absolute treat. A massive thank you for everyone involved from organisers & testers, to drivers, to my Mrs who continues to grant me permission to take part Congrats to anyone that finished a race, set a PB, got in the top ten, a podium, a win or was fighting for our league title!
