To repeat what I said in my first post for the Sachsenring race:

'You need to sign up at Pilsbierbude.de in order to download the track.

You only need this track and not the entire Pilsbierbude mod collection. That entire collection is for joining Pilsbierbude servers. Goodness knows what the size of that is by now.'

The results from this special event will be recorded permanently.

I will post a few pointers on learning the track in this thread soon.

Just ran a few recon laps as not used the ring for ages. Its a great track conversion, very detailed and looks excellent.  8)

Well off the pace so far in 9:30's with a full tank and meds all round. Its a long old lap to memorise!

I was out there in my own car this time last year and wish i was there again! My first two laps still had frost on the circuit  :o
Awesome place. 8)

I have decided to go with normal tyre use and normal fuel use and no pit stop for this race after doing a bunch of laps in various cars.

Sorry for the changes. It will stay like this now. :)

I have managed 9.05 in the Viper, 8.58 in the Lotus and 8.54 in the Vertigo so far. I would recommend the Vertigo as it is the most stable car IMO.

I just tried a couple of laps in the RS GT3 with soft/med and 70 litres. With some mistakes I managed a 8.48.xxx, but it was a very conservative lap. I guess that a lap near the 8.40/8.42 should be a good lap in it.

I will try with other cars soon, to have a better challenge in the Green Hell. Porka it's really easy to drive around here. I will update my laptimes when I'll have some time to try the other cars.

Cu :)

D'oh, did my laps with 2x fuel and tyre wear and hefty 100L onboard. Would hope to be a lot faster in a lighter config!

Few laps with Gillet Vertigo. With a decent lap: 8.43.4, but I guess that a good lap should be well under the 8.40.

Tomorrow I'll try another car ;)

Do you have more than 1 version of the Nordschleife installed?

Second option... as ever. Try to set different directx by the GTR2 config menu, and see if something change.

Remove all versions of the track that you have and reinstall the one we are using is about all I can suggest.

You can count me out of these races. Just dont like this track, too long, too long to remember so i end up just reacting to what i 'think' is coming up.

just done my first few laps of this track, always given it a wide berth before as it needs a lot of time to learn. after 5 laps i have just broken the 10 min barrier! still backing off at almost every blind brow. will have to keep my eye on the mirrors tomorow night as i will probably get lapped!
seems like a nice flowing track, bit like lemans

That was a disaster.

2 left punctures with about 4 or 5 mins left of lap 2.

Bah, i managed to sabotage my own evening there by committing the cardinal sin of making an untried setup change at the very last minute  :( The car went from having mild understeer to terminal oversteer  ::) What a dufus. :wetfish: By mid lap 2 it was almost undriveable in the downhill twisties and inevitably i swapped ends and ripped off my front splitter. Now the car had unbearable understeer and then when i missed the pit entrance for repairs, i Decided to retire than do 3 more laps with a damaged car.  :(

Great track though  8)

Jon was too fast for me.

Nice lap times there Jon. :)

The race was fun for me. I did loose it almost as soon as Jon had caught me on the first lap. I had managed to get a good start and was in the lead from the beginning. After Jon caught me he waited till the long straight to pass me. After that he sailed off into the distance. I did my best to minimise the gap but, it was difficult and I almost lost it a few more times and had to back off on a few corners.

Grats Jon and nsfast.

Well done all, thanks for racing. This track is not easy to learn. :sweatdrop:

Quite enjoyed last night's race. Having not done a practice start I expected to go backwards but jumped in to 2nd place. Wasn't long before Jon caught up and got past though. Was running 3rd then until consecutive spins in one of the fast downhill bits dropped me to 5th. I then had the last lap and half or so to catch back up with ns and apex. Good little battle there with Apex making a small off track excursion I managed to get one place back. The 3 of us finished nose to tail, lucky for me the Apex was slow in a straight line or he would have easily had be on the long straight.

Hoping to make next week's race too.

I really enjoyed the challenge of this track. To keep concentrating for the amount of time you need to is unlike the other tracks we race. My race went quite smoothly which was helped by the Z4's stability/tyre wear so I could just think about keeping the car on the track, not that I didn't stray on to the grass a couple of times. I had a really long 1st gear which was always gonna kill my start, after I got going it was just a case of trying to keep the car on the track and to not overdrive.
It was nice to win but even nicer to finish
Well done everyone who finished and unlucky to those who didn't...and even more so to SRW

Should be able to make next weekend too 8)
