Didn't have time to prepare for two different cars, so like Matt I decided to stay with the Simca, in my case getting rid of my two remaining drives. Tried every conceivable thing in setup, to tame that wayward rear end, but pretty much to no avail. Only succeeded in making it very slightly less suicidal. On cold tyres, this car is pure poison. On warm(er) ones, it's very lightly diluted poison..
Surprised at the start of race 1 to jump two of the Pirins - so surprised in fact, I forgot to shift into 2nd, and promptly lost the advantage again..
Swapped places with Roger a couple of times, but couldn't do anything about Tony & Clive, so 3rd place it was. Grats to Clive & Tony.
Matt set a faster lap than me in race 1, so when he stayed with the Simca too for race 2, I had my work cut out for me. Ahead of Tony on the Grid, but he went past before T1 on L1, only to run wide with Clive a couple of corners later, elevating me to an unlikely 2nd. Kurt got past, but later went off, handing me back the place. Clive & Tony soon caught up, making an attempt to pass. Clive made it stick, while Tony went off. Matt breathing down my neck behind, so had to drive to my absolute max, to maintain my position and stretch the gap a little. 3rd again, until Roger's DQ - commiserations for that; looked like a flawless drive. Grats to Clive on the win & Tony for completing the podium.
Two enjoyable races, and really liked the track - wouldn't mind revisiting it again, just not in the Simca..
