All members welcome. Grid/server capacity: 28 Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Race: 20:40 (16 laps) Track: Interlagos - Autodromo José Carlos Pace 1979 Download thisCars allowed: BMW 2002tii Download this, Porsche 911 RSR 3.0, Ford Escort RS 2000, Boss 302 Ford Mustang Download thisDrivers are reminded that the maximum number of drives in any car is four. Check your status hereThis race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 and the Season 10 Skin Pack which will need to be installed prior to racing. Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Server: simracing.org.uk GTC Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. (4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings pageSpecial Notes: None

hi,
i did download the cars, but i am new to this cars so i have questions.
-i see BMW 2002tii and bmw2002tii2 (orS), they have different PS and i think weights too, can i use both? or only the car 2002tii (without S/2). -what is the 3.0 RSR? the one with more PS or with lower PS? -is doing a force pitstop needed for this race (series?), do not like pitstops in GTL -is this race already in 2012 JAN 2nd??, because it is in page 4 in this letter/forum?.
thanks for answear

Nice one Tony had a 2002 for a couple of years in that bright red like the lower half of the car at the link - nice little motor. Also did borrow garage owner's standard 2002Tii, it really went.

Shame you only get to have four drives tho Bill Thomas. Choose carefully.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE NOTE
I have added another skin pack requirement for this series. It has skins for the Porsche and the Escort. We used them in the Season 10 "Great German Tour" challenge, so if you downloaded them then you don't need to do it again. They are the same as before with no additions.

You can only ever take the cars listed in the race announcement. The other cars you see have to be shown due to the nature of GTL and mod cars. If you did choose a car not listed in the race announcement you would be booted from the game as the car wouldn't be available on the server. I would say your laptime was a good'un but we do get some 's turn out some jaw dropping times in qually.

I'm struggling at the moment with my new wheel and so I'm finding car control a bit off. Best car seems like the Porsche then the Escort then the Mustang. I'm finding the BMW a real beast to keep on the track as it seems to want to spin around at the tighter corners. Hopefully I'll be able to get more praccy in tomorrow before the race.
Don't forget the extra skin pack guy's.

...I'm finding the BMW a real beast to keep on the track as it seems to want to spin around at the tighter corners.... I second that. New track for me and I just tested the 02 for 3 or 4 laps - very difficult. Wished I had more time for practice but I had to do another race at LeMans (P&G) at NG/GC yesterday which ended in a retirement after 7 laps. But it was interesting to see the differences between GTL and P&G on a nearly identical track than last week with the prototypes (choose the Alpine A 110 1300 yesterday cause I could not handle the 906-8 LH in corners ). Hope to join tonight.

I'm putting a copy of my current BMW setup in the 79 Interlagos online folder. I can do a half decent lap using it so it may be of use to anyone else who is struggling keeping this thing on the tarmac.
I'm finding gentle braking helps alot!
