Connection dropped at about lap 46 Sad Really disappointed.

Looked like you had a bad connection as well Tudor Sad Bad luck Mark and Tony as well.

Many thanks to the organisers. Really enjoying my own little race until then.

Happy new year to all.

I think I should be able to join in now Clive. Have managed to steer everybody away from tomorrow for visits so far.

Thanks Chris. I couldn't see how to make John a guest, it was complaining about Mark as well , but I fixed that (I thought)
Thanks phspok and thanks for Tony and everybody involved in organising this one. A highlight of the year for me event wise. Excellent Fun.

Happy new year to you all. Hope I will get time to join in one or two races next year depending on commitments with the MARA league.

Team Black is now complete, as by dint of a fair bit of arm twisting I have persuaded my brother Simon to have a go.

So long as Mark's ankle is better after his sledging prang last week we are all systems go!!!

Well, at least until Simon makes his first attempt to get the IROC through that twisty bit at the start of the lap!

He used to like the 67Honda in GPL and I don't think that the IROC is anywhere near as nasty as that.  Grin

I'm good to go I think Clive. I have done a bit of practice and have a setup I am happy enough with.

I was wondering about Simon as I hadn't seen him racing for a while. Good to have him on board.

Shame you didn't quite make the race Clive. Sounds like you were very close Sad I had my fingers crossed again.

About Mark, I was talking with my parents during the warm up, and I didn't noticed you had to abandon the server cause of the steering wheel Sad so we lost another driver before the start Sad. I regret in particular because you trained a lot for this event, and you aren't even able to start the race Sad

Please don't worry about that Manteos. Always seems that if I do more training than normal something goes wrong Smiley Anyway I really appreciate you organising the race. I know how much work goes into these things. Hopefully I will get time to join another race sometime. Many thanks Manteos Smiley

B*****d PC. Perfect timing. Sorry Fulvio & Goldtop Sad

The force feedback seemed to be working in reverse. I messed around too long wondering if I could gamble on rebooting in time or not (I wasn't sure if I would be allowed the 2 mins before the race).  I also wondered if it might right it's self for the race. In general far too much wondering was going on.

From what I could tell if it had stayed as it was, it would have been undrivable. Annoying because I had done a lot of practice (not that you would notice), as I found the car & track tricky.

Anyway hope you both had better luck? Keeping my fingers crossed (and away from any hammers).

Check this thread out:

http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25994748

EDIT 1: Looks like the same file is used for race 07 so I don't think it is built specifically for the game. I will send you my version by email.

EDIT 2: Also see this:
http://www.nogripracing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=224883
This mentions checking the dll is in the correct folder as it can get moved. Mine is in the root P&G/GTR2 folder.

Edit 3: The size of the dll on my machine is 34,584 bytes.

Sorry Clive, didn't see this post very early. I shall look into it now.

For some reason I have had to rename my PnG game contents folder. It is called PnG_A at the moment. That seem to fix a problem I was having for some reasom a little while ago. Can't remember the details though apart from it not working.

LOL

I don't know.  You invite your mates around for a race and look what happens.

I knew I was having a bad race but didn't realise how much help I had received.  LOL

Don't worry about it Mark.  And the only way out of the Istanbul squad is in a box!
Lol, Thanks Clive.

Ah that explains why I found myself pushing you round the corner. I thought I had got away with the initial tap and breathed a big sigh of relief. I was surprised to end up spinning you out.

I shall try avoid the same move at Istanbul Smiley I'm likely to be behind so the danger is there Smiley
10  UKPnG / UKPnG Races / Re: UKPnG Season 4 Pre-season Handicapped - Bathurst - Sep 9 on: September 09, 2010, 09:48:31 PM +0100
Really Sorry Clive Sad I was slighty put off by a Mustang that was up against the wall before turn one. I was actually going slowly into t1 but couldn't stop in the end. I was still on the brakes when I pushed your car round. I waited for you and didn't see you. Thought you had given up.

So poor race for me. I waited for Clive who didn't turn up to pass me. Then I saw him later on behind me and let him past? I then got a rear wheel on the grass at the end of conrod straight. I started praying I wasn't going to collect Clive again and spun past the rear of his Vette. After that things were going much better and I began concentrating on trying to catch the main field up again. Car felt good and I was confident I would easily see the finish line at least. That was until I clipped the wall in the mountain, killed the engine and ended up in the fields. Think I may have turned in a little to early and lost the back end a bit. Certainly very surprised to end the race where I did. Everywhere else yes!

Anyway thanks again for the race. Bathurst is probably my favourite track and I really enjoyed it while it lasted. I now know where half the MARA drivers are hiding as well Smiley Once more apologies to Clive. I think I might get kicked out the Instanbul team at this rate.

Welcome Matt. Great to have you with us.

The Falcon Mann is a much better handling car than the Weslake due to the rear bar. It is also a little better on fuel which is a factor in these events. Being this is your first race with us, you are required to choose a car from the Yellow group. This way we can guage your performance with 1 event. Your finish position will land you into a group that matches your performance for the next race.

Thanks for the heads up on the timed race ending early. The timed events often do not record the lap counts correctly. I'll be updating the fixed lap count to approximate a 60 minute race later tonight.
Hi Mike, thanks, I suspected as much after I noticed the rear bar on the setup.

It is a good way of organising things and I may try and introduce something similar for the MARA-E league.

No worries, catch you tomorrow.

Note that when I tried to set up a race using time it failed to calculate it correctly and set the race to 14 laps for a 1 hour (not much more than half an hour in reality).

Looks like it is best to set it up using laps. You probably know that already but just incase.

Hi Guys,

I am hoping to join you guys on this one if this is ok? Clive Loynes let me know about the race.

EDIT: Please my earlier coments below on the Falcons. I have just noticed the Mann car has a rear anti-roll bar unlike the Westlake. I shall get my coat.

"However, aren't the Falcons in the opposite groups to what they should be? I not sure about the handling but the Westlake has an extra 15 brake and is slightly lighter than the Mann? I was thinking of using the Falcon so will have a play with the Mann version for now. I am using the yellow group cars as I am a new boy."

I shall use the Westlake. Catch you all tomorrow.

Cheers,

Mark
