I'll have to see what is planned for me Wink but I'll try to make it. Having raced one full season and the odd fun race I suppose that counts for some experience - lol. Just need to practice in a slower car.

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm in Smiley  Grin

I do have one question though. Does the server have a max ping set?

I am racing from Australia you see and the average ping is around 300-400.

Is that in-game ping, or when you do a pint from the command line?

I think we average 150-250 in game.

i have noticed that GTR/L have a rather higher pings compared to say, any FPS, for example, in an FPS i would expect my ping to a UK server to be about 20 approx, and in GTR 100-150 ish

i have seen aussies play FPS with a 300 approx ping, so i would expect your ping to be even higher in GTR Sad

worth testing i spose though Grin

I'd probably enter but are aids going to be allowed? The reason I didn't compete in the championship or any other races this season was because we had to leave off traction control. Its quite hard considering I use the keyboard.
But no sweat if aids are dissallowed. I'm still waiting for a PC steering wheel. When I get one, I'll compete here the odd time.

Feel free to try it out, if the pings are high and cause problems, please consider the others and drop out. The server is not configured to block high ping times so you can try Smiley

Soz, but I don't think anyone will want/allow aids here except clutch. Hopefully you'll start entering when you get your wheel tho.

just turn up on the day, there will most likely be a chat room in the lobby to talk in before the server goes up

and then as soon as you see the server, grab your place Wink

Just to add:

I've set up a spare P4 machine with dedicated server and seems to be hosting ok.
I'll set it up tonight from 7:30 onwards, look for: UKGTR_Clarey_Practice, usual practice password.

From what i have gathered, i can host a race for around 5 people on my 256u/l connection.

Just interested to see how it goes with other users.

Cheers
Phil.
