Time of Day Setting: 14:00

Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: x2
Pit stops required: YES

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Fun race this one. yes

Wasn't too sure if the Rover would be any good, but had decided weeks ago to use it here so wasn't going to change my mind. Felt a little heavy, but was nice and stable everywhere on the lap, and eventually found what looked like half decent pace. It even looked like the tires would hold together for a change under my heavy right boot..... whistling devil

Made a decent start, just holding off I think Geoffers in the Jag. From there I was harried by Clive, who seemed a little quicker than me on full tanks, but he couldn't ever quite get close enough for a dive down the inside sweatdrop. From there it was a case of being consistent and not making any errors, including at the pits, to try to keep 1st place. I had a nagging doubt about whether Geoff was trying to one stop, detective but he pitted as I refuelled, so that meant it was just a case of keeping it straight and true in the final part of the race. Matt was always banging in fast laps, so was never a chance to truly relax, but held on to take the win.

Grats to Matt for the sterling effort, and all the rest of the finishers. thumbup2

Fun but also frustrating wrestling the big Jag around here, always felt it had much more potential but could not get a setup that would stop it handling like a supertanker.

Astonished at the speed Ziu got out of the little Renault in qually, but could not help thinking that it would kill its tyres around here which proved to be the case. I had tested the Rover here pre-season & had got in the 1.36s quite comfortably so knew that it would be quicker than the Jag which I could not get below 1.38. Again Daz proved that right & Matt was also mighty quick in the Alfa. Had some good battling with Erling early on & also with Clive for several laps mid race, sorry I kept getting in the way in the corners guys Grin. So in the end I was pretty happy with 3rd place in my truck.

Congrats to Daz & Matt.  clap clap

PS: No way I could have done a one stopper Daz, may just have been able to stretch the fuel to 14 laps on a tankful.

Had to drive either Div 1 or 2 and prepared cars for both.  Would choose which one based on other's choices.  Joined to find myself the only Div. 1 car. While it would have been easy points, I didn't fancy trundling around far behind everyone else, so switched to Div 2 instead. While a class victory seemed unlikely given the opposition, I should still be able to secure enough points for the overall championship ultimately.

Rather frustratingly, I could nowhere near match Matt's lap times in the same car. In retrospect, I think my gearing may have been too low. The GTV doesn't make a lot of drama when it hits the limiter; it just stops taking more revs, and I probably maxed out too soon on some straights.

After the 1st lap kerfuffles, I found myself 5th, chasing Clive & Geoffers, but not making any inroads into their lead. Behind me, Ziu closed up, after having dropped back at the start, given the slow starting fwd Renault.  Had a good battle over some laps - I had a straight line advantage, while he was massively quicker in the corners.  Eventually he got past, and while I might have been able to squeeze back in front right after, I didn't press the point, as he was faster over a lap, and had made a very clean pass.  Surprised to see him pit very early and wondered if it was a S/G or an undercut attempt.

Followed Clive into the pits on L12, and exited ahead of him.  After more cars pitted, I was running 3rd and getting my hopes up for a podium, but not to be.  Pit again on L24, with Clive following me this time.  Again fuel only, and exited with Clive only a few secs behind, after what seemed a very short stop for him.  Couple laps later, Geoffers exited the pits right in front of me.  Pushed as hard as I could on my worn tyres, but couldn't keep up with him.  Clive not far behind, but suddenly the gap jumped massively.  Replay shows another pit stop being the reason, after apparent short shifting, so maybe he didn't take on enough fuel at the 2nd stop?

Grats to Daz on the win, and Matt + Geoffers on the podium.
