At first glance it looks like someone has just closed their eyes, dived into the toy box, and picked five cars at random

Ah well, that's where you'd be wrong Mr Mogget Sir Geoffers tested several cars, and these were his closest runners. I trust Geoffers times more than my own, so I believe him

At first glance it looks like someone has just closed their eyes, dived into the toy box, and picked five cars at random Now what stupid idiot would do a thing like that! Actually tested several cars &, as Matt said, these 5 came out closest. But I'm sure someone will prove me wrong & go a couple of seconds faster in something or other. The most surprising one I had to leave out was the Alpine 1300, thought it would probably be a bit too slow, but was actually 1s faster than any of these!

Be careful of that final chicane. We raced at this track last week in a WSL test event (Cortinas, Alfas, Minis etc), and attempting to cut that inside corner just a bit too much can result in tragedy I now refer to that chicane as "Mount Thruxton".

I only did around 10 laps in each car & my best was 1.27.7 in both the Escort & the 1750 Alfa. The other three were all in the low 1.28s.

After last week's issues I am going to run this one on our normal server, if people disco, well I've done my best As the 1st test on my server went so amazingly well (though the second was problematic), I might try another in the future, but normal service will be resumed for the moment. And.... I am here for this one

I’ve found some old footage of this track (didn’t it ever change during 30+ years?) with the great late Gerry Marshall driving my favourite car at this very track in the first minute of the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD8SlqqKocA
Notice the “alternative” racing lines sometimes chosen. The rest of the film too is well worth looking at. Hope to join you this Thursday, taking the Slotemaker Alfa GTAm.
