Moderator's Report

Gerald took a shortcut through the international circuit after the race has ended to get back to the pits, and was DQ'd from the game. His position of 11th overall has been restored.

Please try not to drive backwards round the track or cut sections out after the flag because GTR2 isn't very clever about how it handles it.

Server replay time: 4359s

Sam Michaels has closed up and is pressuring Jure as they go through the stadium complex. As they brake for Priory Jure goes wide which leaves enough room for Sam to get inside him and alongside as they accelerate towards the final curve. As they both turn in Jure brakes late gets some understeer and goes wide. Unfortuntely Sam gets some oversteer at that exact moment and there is contact.

Server replay time: 4919s

Almost an exact repeat of the incident at 4359s and with the same drivers involved.
Jure who is still ahead of Sam runs into trouble trying to pass a backmarker in Maggotts. He runs off track briefly but recovers to the racing line just in time for Chapel. Sam takes advantage of this and tries to get alongside but there is contact as they exit onto the Hangar straight.
Jure was on the racing line and Sam was not alongside and should have allowed room for Jure who had nowhere to go and was already up against the kerb.
In fact on this occasion if Sam had stayed out wide he would have got a better run onto the straight to get a slipstream, especially with the Vertigo in front of Jure.

I thought it was pretty cool when the skies started to darken about 15-20 mins into the race, it was a tense few laps waiting to see if it was going to rain and my tiny brain whirring away trying to calculate what to do about it if it did! Cheesy

Had Dirk right up my backside but could hold him off. Got caught out with a back marker again. I made a move to go inside him and allow him the racing line, but he slowed and moved into my path. No contact but I had to lift right off for a few seconds and Dirk made the most and passed. Still having difficulty with understanding how to approach back markers as very few act the same

My first thought was to back off because taking advantage out of such situation would be a bit unfair but then I thought with my pedal problems you would catch me somewhere later anyway. Which you did (later), coming out onto the straight my brake pedal had a peak, killing all of my speed and you just shoot by like I was waiting for the bus... Embarrassed

I almost forgot that I hit a BMW frontally after he was involved in, what looked like, a big crash. Did not drive to the pit for repair but that ruined my race completely.

But racing with picnic and Brian (until I pitted) was superb and made it worth to show up. Wink

Yep - my brain was whirring at a mile-a-minute then too.  Would have certainly made things a little more interesting if it got "mildly moist" - as my average tyre temps were no higher than about 70.  Only the front left ever got above 80.

Cheers for the lapchart Ruskus - always makes for interesting reading.

Right. Smiley

P.S. I've noticed (prior to race start, i.e. start of practice 1) practice server being on warm up, 2 players in game, couldn't join for some 20 mins. Is that normal?

You can only join the server during practice or qualifying sessions. Once the warm up or race has started you can't get in. It happened a few weeks ago and the people like myself who wanted to join practice were locked out.

I think it needs highlighted to all members to stop this from happening

Everyone else would take advantage of the situation including me. It's not the first time it's happened to me and I'm sure when I get the chance to pull off the same,  I will.

Perfectly fair and acceptable

Sorry I missed the race guys. I jumped onto the server about 5 ish and after about half a lap realised I had no depth perception on my left side and a funny felling in my hands and feet Start of a Migraine  Angry. Caught it early so it only knocked me out for about 6 or 7 hours except for the banging headache I now have.

Anyway here is hoping for better luck next time

It was a good race, just unfortunate that crash wiped you and Picnic out. I did not notice at first you were involved but after watching replay I see now.
It was a bad accident with cars bouncing all over the place.

I was disappointed to be in the clubman and not masters this season bit after two races I can now say the opposite. Last year between all my daft mistakes, computer updates cutting in etc the only person I can really recall having good fun with was Freq.

Was a bit worried that with Freq in masters now it would not be the same but now there is a whole host of drivers capable of winning. Last time out 7secs between top 4 and this time it would have no doubt been the same again if the above accident did not happen.

Backo seems very quick but after two engine failures in two races. both happening early doors, I think he is running too fast for endurance and hopefully when he eases off his set ups to last, it will bring him back down by a few tenths a lap.

Take CJ and Ruskus out the equation and there is numerous drivers in the clubman series capable of strong finishes in the masters. Looking forward to the next race

This is my first campaign in the top class and I need to find a bit more consistency but I'm pleased my raw pace is ok.

Backo I think is running too close to the limits, in qually he was smoking as his engine was too hot (please peeps don't do this) and I saw his firery end in my mirror.

I used to run with 2 radiator openings in qualy as well, which meant I was smokin' for some of the lap. But any time I would make up from having less drag, I would lose out of concentration from that idiot pit mechanic telling me my engine is overheating! So now I don't like to smoke, ever Tongue
It's surprising how little you need to change the car to make it much more reliable. BTW, grats peeps

Hi Picinic the lap chart and the report show me as climbing from last place up to 11th which is where my race readout was. as I said the stupid game dq me for driving down the club circuit back to the pits as we used to do for real.I was just lapped by a yellow vertigo and followed it over the line and then down the club track. I think it was adam parle and they must have seen me.cheers gerald

I thought we used to have a rule or something to stop people doing this, not that I can see it. It is certainly unfair to the cars following who have great difficulty seeing the track  Undecided

Ok, we will have to get Dave to look at this when he gets back then.
