Had a bit of fun with Jam there at the start but went off far too often and lost my splitter resulting in a trip to the pits....

I apologise to all that came upon my carcass! ::)

Happened again later on as well but decided not to bother getting another splitter that late in the race (mechanics were probably gone home at that stage :) )

Great fun though (got a PB for the track so I'm very happy indeed) and congrats to Leuven, first time you lapped me I though to myself "where the hell are the others?"  :o

good race by all there. some stupidily fast time being put in by front rrunners   :o  well done chaps.

that had to be the hardest race i ever done. lots of miner offs. tryes wrecked and blue flags all the time. i must try harder i think. still very enjoyible fighting the car for 35 minutes to keep somewhere near the grey stuff

Great times set by the fast guys, unbelievable fellas, well done. (please send me your setups ;))

Qualed in an OK 9th, thought I should have gone a bit quicker but just couldn't put it together.

Soon found myself up to 6th after some first lap spins.
Pops then disconnects (bad luck mate) and I'm in an underserved 5th place, which is where I finished.
Overall a very quiet race, managed to keep it on the track and picked up a few places.
Big thanks to the backmarkers for pulling out of the way, especially Don and Edza.

So 2 races to go and 3rd/4th/5th couldn't be closer, anything could happen, should make a good end to the season.

Bl¤¤dy hell, I don't know what was happening. Qualified 2nd with a decent time and my first spin was even before the esses in lap 1.  >:(
Don't know why, started cautious, or so I thought. Well, then it just went worse. Spins, contacts with fence, contacts with other players, mistakes at every corner, pushing too hard.  :-\

SOOOORY to all whom I spoiled their race, please contact moderator, I plea guilty.  ;D  I think M@arko went to grass, so not to hit me, I punted Gerald off (you were a bit too cautious  :) ), Tyf and Jam were going out of their way for me, thanks, and also all backmarkers were more than fair.

How I came 6th in the end I really don't know. Funny thing is, the car was waaaay slower than in the training and I checked the setup before the race - it was the right one. My fastest lap in the race was almost 2 sec slower than in training, so I don't know what was it. Anyway, this will be the race to forget!  :(

Congrats to Leuven on the win - looked like a lonely race up there ;)

Tough but rewarding race for me, after qualifying 3rd and inheriting 2nd when TT went wide, I eventually had a whole bunch of spins myself which dropped me to 8th? at one stage.
Had a good scrap with  Shark for the last few laps and it was hairy enough with both of us having understeer due to tyre wear.
Well happy with 3rd in the Porsche which is no match for the 360s around Oschers.

AAARGH!

15mins of the race to go, my best drive ever, sitting handily in 4th, still just about in touch with Rich_A and Shark and... "Connection Lost"

 :'(

I was behind you struggling to close the gap and then all of a sudden you were gone  :(
Gutted for you Pops and was really looking forward to some scrapping with you when/if I caught you.

Grats to all the big boys on a job well done and thanks and sorry to any backmarkers I may have accidental sliced on my way through :-[

Had a reasonably poor qualy, just couldnt get a clean lap and whenever i was on a flyer someone lost it in front of me forcing a back off or lost time and qualied 12th in the end.

Race went well, nabbed a few places on first few laps from spinnning cars and got upto 6th i think at one point, and right behind greg and keeping a good steady pace for about 20 minutes. But then coming upto lap a backmarker through the fast 'S' bends, he lost it in front of me forcing me to lift off, which inevitably caused me to spin off at a fast rate of knots :o
Had to sit in gravel watching a train go by but rejoined in 12th or 13th. Then fought my way back up the field until i caught Ginsters.
We then had a superb tight race, lap after lap, almost right to the end with me glued to his rear wing. He finally ran wide with about 4 minutes left on the clock and i gratefully claimed a hard earned 7th place  8)

Thats a tricky circuit and a tough race, always able to catch anyone out...except Leuven in his red rocket 360  ::) Top drive mate. 8)

Not bad race but not so great lap times in my 911 RSR. Alot of it is on exit speed so 911 always gonner struggle here..

Nice win Leuven, well held!! I was starting to push you Shark in Morgan, specially as Mo was lingering and then I went for fast final turn and spun it. Couldn't figure out where to push harder for a pass, brain dead but I rekon final turn was only chance to get close and then go for side by side into T1 which slows us both down and then Mo jumps us both on exit taking second lol, that's life.. i'm disappointed I couldn't hold that final turn.

Did someone swap the track when I went for pi** during warm up? Felt like I was driving on ice  :o, I had more offs than TT.

Still managed a great battle with Mark, tiptoeing into every corner, holding him up and then getting on gas early. Thanks for your patience, sure I was getting slower every lap. Probably the only time in my life I will do something Senna like.

Gutted for you pops, but hey enduro 2 will soon be here. Looking forward to getting it on.

Oschersleben is one circuits where the Morgan is disadvantaged the least, so was expecting to do quite well.

After Mo and TT's early offs i was amazingly in 2nd after qualifying in 4th.

Took it pretty easy as I knew the tyres would go at about 30 mins and Oschersleben pays to be smooth and use less of both feet. Rich A sat behind me 1.5 - 2.5 secs for the first 30 mins. After we both took it realitively easy in the first few laps I kept waiting for him to challenge me in his surely faster GT3, but it never came which was slightly perplexing, guessing he had something in the bag for a late challenge (like working tyres :P). Eventually Mo came back and as Rich kindly made way off the circuit for him (what were you thinking?! u were my protection against Mo  ;) ;) ;)) Mo then caught me, but made another mistake with 4 laps to go and gave me a 5 second cushion. Unfortunately I was having to take it real easy cause of the tyres and knowing that staying on was my best bet at keeping 2nd, I hit a massive load of traffic and my 2nd place lead was slashed. Mo caught me on the last lap and tried a daring move round the outside with 2 turns to go. Unfortunately we touched as he went by and he went into a half spin giving me back 2nd.

Good race. Well done Leuven, untouchable again.

Yea I know can't believe I spun.. well didn't actually spin, was one of those snap oversteer on power in one direction a little and then 90 degrees in the other direction. Car was bit too eager to get on the power diff!! Can't complain with 4th though, that's twice in a row you managed to get my position Mo :P ..

Olla,

After this race I seriously wondered what the heck we're all on about with that GTL discussion!? I joined the server which had about 11 GT3 Porsches and I was only one with a different car (Vertigo). Some more join and only Shark and me have an alternative car in the race? In this case Shark did pwetty well, but the Vertigo is no match for any car there I believe. Drove my ass off and managed a midpack qualifying of 12th (?). My personal best, 0.6 secs faster would have given me the same position, lol! :D
Start was good, managed to not do a standing start after time started running, prolly due to the fact there's no countdown in the middle of my screen this time ;) :D
Ended up in 6th after people spinning and crashing and 'leaving' the server. Had to push really hard to stay there, which was bound to go wrong, hehe and it did. Let TT through, only to see him spin off and suddenly appear in my right front window again ;)! EGG!  >:(
Was behind Ginsters and Mark after another spin. They had a really nice battle and I was able to stay close, but in last turn, Mark had a glitch, suddenly on my bonnet then 10 yard away again, hehe. Someone else left the server at the same time... Hence I was out of the game, lol. Even managed to ram myself into the pit wall in the last lap, since I've been driving GTL so much that I thought last lap, was really last lap... GTR felt it necessary to see this differently, rofl! Hence I lost even more places... HAHA!
Can laugh at it now, but I was pwetty P'd off at the time! ;)  :-\ :'( :-X :-[ >:( >:( >:(

Grats to Leuven and to all others who managed to finish 40 mins (or more ;) :D) of Oscher!

Yeah, it's a shame more don't take the alternative cars as they handle better than the F360 or 911, even though they don't have as much grip or straight line speed.
Also IT'S LONELY BEING THE ONLY ONE MADE OUT OF WOOD!
We need a points multiplier to make it more worthwhile.  ;) ;D

Hey guys, thanks for the commiserations, I appreciate it :)

I've been looking into my connection problems (that's 3 out of the last 4 NGT Sprint races I've had a disconnect) and I'm now 95% sure it's down to my ISP.

At peak times, I'm getting massive packet loss on my connection (up to 20%) which seems to be causing the disconnects. My ISP (freedom2surf) has admitted there is a problem generally on their network and specifically with packet loss for customers on an 8MB LLU connection (like me).

I've been using a monitoring service (http://l8nc.com/) to keep an eye on my connection and after a pretty good few days, the packet loss was horrible last night.

We've been promised improvements over the next few weeks and a total fix by the end of Febuary with the installation of a new network to finally sort it out.

The really frustrating thing is that I can't even move ISP. There's no mechanic in place to migrate a LLU ADSL connection like there is with a non-LLU connection. If I want to move ISP, I have to cancel entirely and order from a new supplier which could leave me without an internet connection from 2-4 weeks and as we run a small business from home that's just not an option.

Anyway, that's my tale of woe over. If you think you might be having problems with your connection, L8NC is really useful (and free!).

Pops.

It's actually the 3rd race in a row that I've inherited your position due to your misfortune Rich - not a nice way to decide the result so hopefully we can get some racing done next time  ;D

Had to write a little note on this...

Before I went off (the first time!) I found myself behind Jamera and catching him nicely. Truth be told I was a little starstruck (for want of a better word) at the thought that here in front of me was an experienced racer that I've seen so many times before up at the other end of the field. "Must have been something wrong in his qualy session" I thought but at the same time I didn't care. ;D

I caught him and even passed at the 3rd corner and that was the best feeling of racing I've had so far being part of this wonderful racing league.

Now fair enough, my inexperience kicked in after a few more corners and I lost the back end putting too much throttle on (trying to get away from Jam looming in my mirrors). You can say what you like about "going for the win", "accepting nothing less", etc, etc but for a relative noob, that was better than winning the championship and I have to thank all the guys that run this league again and again for that.

I think I'm getting a bit better every race but the enjoyment gained from being part of all this is hearty indeed and cheers for having me!

Just had to get that off my chest...

Hehe, glad your enjoying it Edza, it is a great thrill getting past someone on track, especially the bigger or regular names, its like claiming a scalp ! ;D
I only joined in october and i remember feeling starstruck myself whenever i came near any of the 'star' drivers upfront and still do with the likes of Leuven and Mo, who i just get right out the way of !  But the rest i'll fight wheel to wheel with ;)

The pace will come once you get more familiar with the tracks, then you can start working on setting the car upto suit your preference and gradually get quicker and more consistent.
Then you get even more pressure being further up the pack !...but a bigger reward when you beat someone you used to be 'starstruck' with. 8)
Enjoy !!

What the heck is LLU or non-LLU ?!

T

LLU is Local Loop Unbundling.

It's where the operator, BT in the UK (or Kingston for those in Hull  ;)) who traditionally had a monopoly, have to make lines that run from the customers houses to the exchange available to other companies. Those other companies can then upgrade individual lines to take advantage of faster / better technologies.

So, LLU broadband is using the same line but using different kit at the exchange to get faster speeds, non-LLU broadband uses BT's ADSL equipment (that can be re-sold to any provider).

So, with a non-LLU connection you can pretty much use any provider but you are limited to 2MB broadband. It's easy to switch providers becasue the equipment is the same.

With a LLU connection, if you were to switch providers, you'd effectively be using a completely different set of kit (that's not actually true but I won't complicate it further :D) which is why it's been difficult for a migration procedure to be implemented...

See, you wish you'd never asked now!

Pops

One of the hardest things to do in Sim Racing is overtake cleanly, hence why it is so rewarding IMO :)

Me and Locutos had a great battle at monza GTL in the GT40's on saturday, we even managed to go into the braking zone at Turn 1 and through the chicane all pretty much side by side.
I was impressed by not only Locutos but also myself as we were able to do it well.  8)

Well I remember pulling a fast one in the Vertigo to take second in class at Magny Cours very early in Endurance S1, but that was before people started to realise they could do a full race distance on a single set of tyres in NGT. After that the Vertislow was true to its name.
