Hello guys !

It's been a long time since I've posted here  Smiley
I was coming over here to see if there was any iRacing league still going..  Undecided sadly it seems like it's not  Sad

I asked David about it and he suggested I post here.

With a friend of mine we are currently in the process of creating a new iRacing private league (Road Racing)
The idea behind it is to gather European drivers and make a big European champ..
We all kinda like the iRacing concept, but everyone agree it's not the same as running races against/with the same pilots each time..

There are leagues in kinda every country now (we come from i-FRN.com, the best French based iRacing league), there leagues in Germany, Spain, but sadly there don't seem to be a championship that gathers the best European pilots.. of course,

So, I wanted to know if there was some interest over here, to participate in the championship.
We will also need some race admins if all goes well, and ideas are very welcome too !!  Cheesy

The basics of the champ would be:

- races every other monday evening (European time) with an official practice every other monday
- race length long enough to force a pit for gas
- car would be Ford V8, Corvette .. or Cadillac if we get it in the new build  Wink
- no multi class (for now)

I've set up a small forum to discuss further here : www.wg-racing.eu  or we can discuss here too  Wink

I'd be happy to be racing again with you guys !

Not sure about the admin side of things, but I'd be happy to run in a new championship series.
Does it have to be Monday though, because it would clash with the Club England Skippy series?

Nope it don't HAVE to be on mondays  Wink
I'm just starting to gather informations about the series currently running so we don't interfere with them.

We want to work with the series already running, not against them.

Glad to see you're interested.

Good luck with your new league.  Unfortunately I'm busy Mondays and Wednesdays with Club England commitments.  Any other day and I would be interested.

Hi Darren, thanks for luck  Wink

As said to Lazlo, it's not monday for sure now..  I'll keep track of all the active league running and will try not to interfere.

Thanks for the info on Club England btw.. is it run on the official iRacing forum only ? Who is the admin of the series ?

The club England events are run from the club England forum on iRacing.  Michael Dawkins runs the Skippy races on Mondays, and I'm planning to resurrect the Wednesday night races from next season. (don't tell anyone it's a secret Wink)

I don't think Michael is a member here.  What do you need to know?

Nothing special  Cheesy

If I know there are leagues already running strong on monday and wednesday, I'll try and choose another day.

Or I'll have to choose one (gonna be difficult to please everyone  Undecided)

We're holding our first open race monday april 23th..  it's firstly a fun race but also a test for us  Wink

Date : april 23th
Track : Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - Full Course

Practice : 20h00 : 60min
Qualification : 21h00 : 20min
Race : ~21h25 : 30 laps

Post here if you plan to come, there are around 20 pilots interested coming from the french community.
My goal is to reach a solid 30/40 pilots base (yeah I know I am a dreamer).

It's all free and I hope it will stay like that for the championship.

The champ will NOT be run on the SPF.

We'll do testings after the new build.  Wink

Got to love the English language.  Grin

'a wide berth' - to keep clear of, to avoid.

It comes from the nautical term 'berth' - a space for a ship to dock or anchor.

The race sounds like fun, count me in.  I assume this is during week 13?

Thanks for the translation Darren  Cheesy

French is a nice langage but when I comes to expression like that I think English is more florish  Smiley

Week 13 ? pure luck if it's week 13  Wink
