I'll do some practice laps tomorrow. I will try to join the race, if my schedule permits. What is a good lap time at Brno? My first race with you all was supposed to have been at Charade, but I had a CTD right before the race. Thanks, W.C.

Struggling in all three cars I tried, can hit 2:18's in the 906-8 & the Pantera, but very inconsistent

Struggling in all three cars I tried, can hit 2:18's in the 906-8 & the Pantera, but very inconsistent Well that's a relief! With the exception of the GT40, in which I'm just too slow, I find all these cars a real struggle and not a lot of fun. They all seem to have tyres that promise so much but don't deliver. I suspect that the tyres are modelled to give a grip level and G-Forces that my poor little brain just cannot cope with whilst perched on a swivel chair. I have the same problem with GTR2. But I'm delighted that Legzy is even slower.

Ahhhhhh that's better, something Clive doesn't like I rather enjoyed testing for this one, the GT40 is quite challenging, but I expect aliens to be very fast in it I remember John? being unreasonably quick at our Monza event in the MK2 I think. I like the Panty Modena best though, he is great fun round here. IMHO

The MkII is a horrible car to drive, so it's just as well that it isn't included here. I would say that 2:17s in the MkI would be very good, although I know someone who can do 2:14s

Strangely for me, I find the GT40 quite an enjoyable drive here. I do however think we'll all be flailing about on very worn tyres for the last few laps, which could make it interesting.

Well I'm not a fan of any of those cars & a very average track in my book Was all about getting to the end really, pleased to come home in 5th (I think). Congrats to Oldie Team mate Ed, obviously managed his tyres well & benefited towards the end of the race See you all at Zandvoort p.s. LOL I might have done better if a bloke in a pail blue shed hadn't rejoined just in front of me and then started faffing about under my feet! I didn't like any of those cars either and my attempts to come up with a setup that compensated for this created something horrible.

Glad you all enjoyed it then Replay posted, but there are too many anomalies in the cars to do the results tonight. Clive was in the results 3 times, That I can sort, but i have no PG here to see what cars had what tyres.

You know you can correct the tyres after the results are posted. You have to set the right car, but it will alow you to get away with 'unknown' tyres.

I made more mistakes in this single race than in whole championship. First it was bad start, or let`s call that attempt of burnout, and drop from 2nd to 6th. Than misshift, than too late braking for penultimate corner ... all that i first few laps.
After that I was able to catch GT and Jarda having hard fight for last rostrum position, and decision was to wait and see. But Jarda made mistake so it was on me to defend honour of Porsche name against GT40. Than mistake again!!! Just forgot that I have much later braking points and, when GT hit the brakes, he forced me to brake in a way that even modern Porsche don`t like so I ended in a fence.
But I didn`t gave up because I knew that he will run into tires problem and I was on hardest option - green spot tires. GT just have too much understeer in last few laps so I take advantage in last corner trying to keep momentum and outrun him to the first corner and that was it.
Did I mention that my dog was able to byte my foot only once in first few laps before deported from my ... errr ... study room ...

As predicted, an interesting race for me. Got to love the grunt of the GT40s which helped me keep ahead of faster competition here....until my tyres started to get the better of me. Good patience shown by Jarda and Ed as I was having to get very defensive at times, but after so many races in agile cars trying to pass lumbering tanks in the corners, it was nice to have it the other way. Well done to Geoffers for another impressive drive. Us Kerbies continue to show our class as other teams are left to squabble it out beneath us

A solid but totally uneventful drive for me. I love the GT40 MkI (and Gulf) cars, so driving this was a no brainer. My single qualifying lap was a PB for me in this car at Brno, so I didn't bother carrying on! Qualified P4 on the grid, and managed to move up to P2 behind Geoffers. I knew that Geoffers would be using medium tyres for the race (it was the sensible option), so I expected to be able to just about keep up with him over the first few laps. That proved to be the case, and we both eased away from the pack behind. Geoffers very slowly increased his lead as the race progressed, and he wasn't making any mistakes. My Ws104 tyres (the slightly softer tyre of the two medium options) held up quite well, although it was getting a bit more slippery over the final few laps.
Overall I was pleased to finish in 2nd place. Well done to Geoffers for the solid win, and Animal Ed for recovering to take 3rd.
Did Nik blow his engine on lap 1?
