I was thinking the same, since I was 4 secs of the pace all the race :^(. Checked my wheel... Turns out I was driving with 90% max f throttle... Grrr! I'll be back... Sniff T

Sorry about bugging out after the first race; forgot to turn ReplaySaver on and Alt-Tabbed out to try and save it and GTR crashed. Was quite pleased to put a reasonable qually lap in and get 5th on the grid. Was actually just about keeping up with the pack ahead and staying out of reach of newbie Prof behind me, but under the pressure dropped my left wheels off in the esses and spun from very high speed, and had to wait ages for everyone to go past before I could spin back round. Eventually worked my way back to 6th with some consistent laps and then picked up my original place of 5th when Picnic missed the bus stop style double chicane before The Loop. I needed one more litre of fuel and and despite backing off and short shifting, crossed the line coughing and spluttering with just 0.2l left, and less than a car length in front of Picnic who was also low on fuel but going much faster as we approached the line. My wrists are completely knackerd now. Those cars are damned good fun though!

To finish first, first you must have fins.

3 races 3 wins.
First two were boring, didn't see anybody else, third was brilliant despite there being only 5? drivers. Had a ding dong battle with Picnic who drove superbly. I thought I'd just sit with him for some company but I discovered actually I wasn't going any slower than normal so had to really push it (setting a 1:23.7 with a tiny bit of draft) to get by which eventually I did only to give the place back and then finally again i took the place once more and won by a couple of seconds, but it was damn close some great driving especially side by side up the hill with complete confidence in each other not to touch, brilliant stuff.
The escorts were a lot of fun once i'd got used to the feel and made some minor setup tweaks and once the driver speed was the same they are great for close racing.

Cheers chaps. Yep close racing in 2nd and 3rd race really was good. But out of traffic, with no chance to catch pacesetters, it was incredibly dull so I quit final race. Not sure if track or car was the reason for boredom, it would certainly be better with fuller field, but I vote for more on a different track please.

I made complete pigs ears of the first two races, the first I just blew it with a spin and obviously really cooked the tyres. But that 3rd race, I had pole but within a lap I could see Shark's green Escort hunting me down. Drove 3 consective 24.4 laps, and Shark still closed me down The side by side bit was bonkers, it started before the start finish line when you got passed me, I cut back in and we criss-crossed tight entry/wide entry and wide exit/tighter exit before the run up the hill. I think I stopped breathing for the whole section Great fun these Escorts

Only did one race before I tried alt-tabbing, then had crashes, then the racing had re-started :-( First race was superb. had some close battles before eventually spinning. Finshed well and was really fast for once.
Good set of races these, I think Watkins is superb fore these, its funny as soon as you lift off you understear off the corner, you just have to have the guts to plant the accelerator so you can slide majestically round :-)

Seems I didn't solve my hardware problems. Couldn't get out of GTR and the screen was completely mashed, got error from graphics accelerator - do you wanna tell ATI about it? Hell, yeah, but how's this gonna solve my problem? So I had to quit and restart my comp. "Escort way of driving" doesn't fit my style, so I'll have to do more practicing, but only if escorts get more popular in UKGTR.

I certainly feel like you, I always want all wheels pointing the the same direction, when I'm Escorting :-) I tend to switch to an arcade way of thinking... I also think Richard Burns rally has got me a little more sorted for it too. Fozzmeister

Maybe you should take of fast side band addressing or GART stuff of the ATi drivers. Sometimes helps. PM me or post in ZiP forum m8 and we can see if we can figure it out T P.S. As for hardware problems I seem to have a couple of my own My nice MOMO wheel turned into a pile of poo after 6 months or so... Throttle stays on for 10-15% and was interfering with my braking (max 90% because of it). Solved that by switching to 2 axes, but throttle is still behaving badly . Anyone got a clue? Broken or simply filthy?

Picnic, you wanna make this a regular thing on Friday nights? Would love to try some other addon tracks too with the Escorts, nice to see some new scenery.

Broken or simply filthy? I wish my MOMO would give up, then I can get a DFP. Have u fiddled with the pedals? the POTS are held in rather pathetically, if all else fails you can use DXTweak2 to make it normal again, tho its not really a great solution. Fozzmeister

I'll have a look at that Fozz, tx. Maybe I'll open it up and clean it out a bit. I think I read Mark saying something about it as well :\

Well there are two main problems with the pedals, other than them being s**t. 1) the pedals move around slightly, as the axles are smaller than the holes they go in, which leads to very high max values which aren't achived under normal playing due to movement (this is what mark had) 2) the POTS come adrift and wobble around which in effect makes the same thing. All POTS wear out, get grubby etc. I doubt that it would be noticable yet for you as they are pretty new. Fozzmeister

Hi Guys I was having trouble braking with the sidewinder having trown the MOMO in the back of the cuboard its a piece of sh***t only 6 months old and been broken twice./ The other thing I could not understand was the car swapping ends going up the hill to the chicane. Then its me as the rest of the circuit was a mystery it looks nothing like the one we ran last year with the nascar mod.The other problem when you have a much younger missus at around 10pmI will leave to your imaginations.all the best gerald
