All members welcome.

Cars allowed: Ford Mustang, Lotus Cortina, Austin Mini Cooper, Jaguar MkII from here The Real GTL mod 1.0:
http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod10.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168781/RealMod10_exe

and update (to ver 1.3): http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod13update.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168219/RealMod13update_exe

It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=377&theme=5)

Special Notes: Avoid going off at Knickerbrook. There is a hole in the surface that you may fall into. Also avoid the RH side of the track by the first tree on the RH side after the pit lane exit. There is an invisible obstacle there.

Cuts are on for this track but IIRC there are some odd spots that throw up rogue cuts. Let me know if you want them turned off please.

Sorted.  8) 5 yrs worth of motherboard BIOS upgrades and new, more powerful graphics card - GTX 660 Ti - has given me a 10% improvement in 3DMark6 performance. :jumpjoy:

Glad to hear that's all sorted out now Bill.

Quickly tried the stang and the tina and they seem extremely well matched here  :)

Thanks Tony another great track/cars combo.  Couldn't even approach my PB in practice or qualifying.

Made a good start and did my usual first lap trick, tried to fight for position off line on cold tyres.  After that had my customary battle with Kurt for a number of laps setting a hand full of PBs in the process, hope nothing I did contributed to you dropping out - noticed you had an off immediately after I braked sightly for a bend.  Even after Kurt dropped out I was still putting in 1:54 odd laps until I lost concentration and had two cut track warning in half a lap.  After that I had to drive more carefully and lap times went out to 1:58s.  Most enjoyable evening.

:) As everyone knows GTL Minis and I do not get on really.

I used to own a tuned 1380cc Mini back in the 80's (in my youth) with a Webber 40 carburettor which came out the dash in the center where the speedo would be.......Smoking in the car was not an option!!!  ;D It was good for 110mph and handled like a Go Kart........Really good fun to drive  ;D

The GTL minis do not give the same happy feeling!  :-\ "Which reminds me can some one PM me a link to Geoffers mini set up.....Please"   ;)  How ever I tinkered with this one a little before the race and during quali and managed to get a little more on the pace....But it still needs some work....GEOFFERS where are you?  ;)

Had a fantastic race with Jules and Tony (before he went off) with some great out braking manovers and different racing lines....This is what racings all about people.  ;D...FUN. I noticed when I was battling with Tony that Jules was hanging back ready to pounce and by the time I got to lap 15 ish Jules was ready for the kill.......Nicely done Jules. Still I'm very happy with P3...Must get off my back side and spend some time on Mini development.  :)

@ Mark, the Geoffers mini setup is based on the GTC-76 KAD Mini so may be inappropriate for this'n.

I'm sure if you were to pm Geoffers (other Aliens are available) he would send you a setup.

In offline praccy I had discovered that I could do equal times in the Mini and the Cortina but I was two secs faster in the Mustang. That, I found suprising as I felt I had less control over the V8 beasty but decided to take it for the race nonetheless.
I managed to achieve 3rd in qually and after a good start, passed Syd to claim second. But next lap Syd caught me napping and flew by me and disapeared into the distance, keen I imagine to catch the mecurial Goldtop who was already out of sight.
This left me with a healthy lead over next man Mark and I started to dream of third place on the podium and a good nights work well done. It was not to be. I noticed that the gap between Mark and I was shortening and that he had Jules for company. And it wasn't long before Mark's mini was clattering off my Mustangs bodywork as we battled for position with Jules holding a watching brief.  After I made a bad mistake at Lodge and went off this released Mark and Jules and I was unable to keep up with them.

Great fun guys and we re-visit this circuit at the end of the season  ;D

I've only driven the RealGTL Mini once before at Castle Combe last year. I'll dig out the setup if you want it Mark. As Tony said the setup I provided was for the KAD Mini, very different beast.

Basically with the GTL Mini you want the front quite soft & the rear quite hard so it slides a bit into corners, then use the brake bias to balance it. I usually run somewhere about 72/28 but it varies circuit to circuit. You need to get it so its just starting to breakaway to help turn-in, too much means you lose time correcting the slide, too little & it ploughs straight on, bit like most of the cars I guess but a bit more critical on the Mini. Set front toe about -0.8 to reduce power understeer, less on fast tracks so as not to scrub off too much straight line speed. Rear toe usually 0.

Well I tried the tina and stang and found them to be very similar, but then set about practising and developing the stang as I didn't fancy being out-dragged if I took the tina. Right decision for the result, but meant a pretty dull race for me. Still enjoyable as Oulton is one of my favourite tracks and somewhere I always seem to do well at. An d the first win ever for me in a tank  ;D

Glad to see others had such a good race and well done Jules for managing a very mature drive for 2nd spot, particularly as he hadn't done much practice for this  ;)

Well done to all.
